Lovely bass. Interesting neck it has, too. Did you taper it down to be more jazz bass-like?

1974 Jazz Bass - all original including case and hang tags.
Good looking P Bass ! I actually refinished my jazz in the early 80s... it was a beat to heck sunburst when I bought it in 76, took the better part of a day mixing about three different stain colors to finally get the color I wanted.
Aha! I wondered... doesn't quite look like the walnut factory finish, but close enough! I think mine's original, but it looks like it got a clear coat over the original finish before I picked it up in '87. Apparently
-brown was not a super popular production color, because there don't seem to be many out there on the used market. 
This was the only used P bass on the wall at the shop when I bought it, so I didn't exactly pick the color. But it's grown on me. Love seeing some wood grain.
Another pre-Ernie Ball Music Man Sting Ray. Mine's an early 79. Not a lightweight, but still sounds sweet after all these years.

Bought it new 42 years ago just about this time of year, and it is registered in the Pre-EB unofficial database, maintained here.
Tapes are there for low tension, as the the old truss rod she ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be. Will likely replace the tapes with Brite Flats (the strings that it came with when new) when it's back from spa time with a luthier.
Still have the original hang tag. The original strap is no longer trustworthy.

'79 4001, '75 Jazz. I used to have a '78 Jazz, too, but it went to a very happy home.
May 1978 production. Took it home in August. 
Veneman's Music?!?! Small world... I used to live in Maryland and spent MANY hours at that store. I bought a new '83 4003 Ric from Chuck Levins but had it modified at Veneman's.

Here's my mid(?) '70s Guild B-301 I put Hipshot Ultralites on to help w/ some neck dive (not pictured), Rotosound monel flats, & some big ole aluminium skirted knobs to replace the chewed up Gibson reflector style ones it came to me w/:
