[MAJOR METAL]

Yay, it's my turn! This past sunday I had my first session for my full celtic sleeve. The lower part of my arm is mostly a series of knotwork bands which will be shaded in various grays and colors. The upper part of my arm will have a tree of life on the shoulder, two celtic-style dragons encircling the bicep/tricep, and probably another few bands to complete it. As you can see if you look closely, this tattoo is helping me to cover up and move past some unhappy times in my childhood (read: scarring). I'm loving it so far, I go back a week from today to get the second half of the outline.

The artist is Jeff Lambert at Ace of Spades in New Britain, CT.

We were just touring down in GA so got a tattoo on the road.. lovin it! Also got to stop into the Atlanta Bass Gallery while we were there (right next door to Smiths Old Bar where we were booked in Atlanta).

Hey infect, how's the pain level on the legs when you're getting it done? I want to do a leg sleeve (a sock ), but I'm guessing the shin must kill...

Pain is rather relative when getting tattoos, but for me it was easy. The worst part was actually the soft part next to the knee. Shin is what I would call 'moderate' pain The achilles and soft skin by the 'nub' on the foot hurt pretty bad too. Still tolerable though! Was easier than certain parts of my back were.. That's for sure.

Mmmmm, the part near the knee makes sense. I'm getting the second half of my arm outlined on Wednesday, and I'm not looking forward to the elbow area...at all

My godson is going on 21 on Christmas Day and wants a tattoo for his birthday as a present from me!! hmmmm...

My eldest son found "tatoo sleeves" in a joke shop over the weekend (he's 16),,,,,,,, like stockings that you put on your arms, and look like the genuine article...... he filled me in and we wound his mother up so well..... especially when he decided to show off his new tattoos over dinner.... and all he got from me was a "oh.... very nice.....give it a while before you get your next one!!"..... His mother, God help her, was almost in tears

I agree totally with you there, what i found was when it was getting closer to the foot the skin is thinner and it was hurting quite a bit.

Had a problem with the tattoo on my calf aswell, it wasnt sore when it was being done, but afterwards, holy crap!

After the wound had started to heal it still hurt quite a bit, but thats probably because i got a bit lazy and it got a really thick scab and because you calf moves when you walk about, it cracked, leaving a scar, thankfull its not noticable unless you look really really closely (and see the change in skin texture), there is a small nub of black that came off aswell, but that will be easy to rectify.

Joe: I really dig the octopus, you shouldn't have had it colored though, I liked it better just shaded with one color. It looks awesome though, so does the fish.
