Post your modded/parts basses!

Started out with some presumably no-name P-bass body..

And, after a TON of Fender parts, including a MIA Special Neck, I ended up with this :D

Here's a modded bass.

Squier Affinity what I changed the pup to a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound, installed an MIA red tortoise PG, rosewood thumb rest and La Bella tapewound strings.

This is my partsbass.

GFS royal pawlonia sunburst body (I'd call it a clown or red burst), MM maple neck, Fender and misc. HW, Fender 3 ply white PG, now have 18V Bartolini system with concentric knob pots so I didn't have to figure out how/where to mount the fourth.

Then came the Carvin HB bridge pickup and VMJV neck

The Affinity neck has been defretted:

Together with my VMJV (which has upgrades pickups and preamp)

Both also have high-mass bridges and SD Blackout preamps.

Then there’s the Dean Sledgehammer 5, swapped the original no-name pickup with a Carvin HB Wide, then added a 2nd one for good measure. Both pickups are switchable independently from Series/Neck Coil/Bridge Coil. Preamp is miraculously stock...it fit this bass best.

Finally, my ‘97 L2500. I had a Pensa Preamp installed 6 months after I got the bass, but painstakingly rebuilt and reinstalled the original preamp just this year. At this time, it is all original save for the extra switching I added to the pickups. Added a Push/Pull volume pot to enable Series (bass came wired Parallel/Coil Tap only), and a 4th Minh switch to go from inner to outer coils in Coil Tap.

...and that’s actually all my basses...I guess I just can’t leave good-enough alone...

Reworked a Squier Affinity PJ bass. Swapped the pickups for Classic Barts, better pots, shielded control cavity, painted the headstock flat blat, black hipshot tuners, black knobs, and black screws for the pickguard. Good upgrade to both sound and looks.
