I modded a Squier Bronco Bass. I really don’t like the hum so I changed the pickup and colour a bit. I used a Fender Noiseless Telecaster pickup. I am thinking I might change it to a standard noiseless Jazz bass pickup of some type.View attachment 2832627View attachment 2832628

The pu/surround is a cool look - how does a guitar pu sound for a bass? Early Dano's come to mind.
 
This is my parts bass. I’ve had the body since 1988, and it’s had at least four necks on it over the years, two of them fretless. Can’t count how many gigs it’s been on in one form or another. The most recent conversion was the addition of a battery box and Sadowsky preamp by Pat Wilkins.

For example, sitting in with the band at our middle daughter’s wedding at Greenfield Village ca. 2014, playing the head to “When I Fall In Love.” I’m typing this today, sitting in the room with our 3 year old grandson...
