I'm going to assume you mean the chrome male to male effect coupler...

From a Company called Hosa Technologies Model GPP-146 Pedal Effect Coupler cost about 5 bucks ea.

Yea i'm liking the OC-3 as well especially for the $60.00 price tag it had, serves my purpose anyway

I've seen those little metal boxes (on the lower right of your board SMB) on a lot of boards on these forums.

As I'm an FX noob I'm curious if anyone can enlighten me as to what they are. A/B switch?, Some sort of modular FX loop?

"Like how your overdrive sounds before your phaser but like how your phaser sounds before your overdrive too? Connect them to the ESR and have it either way at the push of a button!"

Heres some pics of the Aluminium Board

Im getting the top carpeted tommorow after work, my dad ordered an outlet through work so i can just plug it in with an extension lead rather then have the 4 outlet board cable hanging out the back, and im putting in a funky red glow switch, i was thinking a missile launch one but it lets face it....glowing lights are much more hardcore, oh and i didn't put the handles in the pic because...well...there not installed yet i just put some pedals on it and its a REALLY comfortable angle.

Nice board. What are the dimensions on it? Also, are you going to drill some holes for power and ignal cable routing or will they all be on top?

Nope. The reversers are 1590 sized, the one on the pedalboard is just a basic little looper.

theres enough space at the top between where the pedal space lifts out and the chasis for cables to fit through so im going to cut a slit in the "lips" that hold the pedal space there so they can come up to power the dc brick and whammy if i dont drill holes

but im still considering drilling holes for patch leads and what not and putting the dc brick in the under belly but then if i want to change the layout im screwed i could just recarpet but that would be a bitch but then im pretty happy with my current layout....BAWWWWW im confused

the overall top area is 94cm x 46.5cm
pedal area is 82.5cm x 35.5cm
height at front: 8
height at back: 16.5cm

Maybe add a few strategically placed holes/slots to pass cables through rather than putting them exactly where pedals will be now. I can almost guarantee that your board of next year will be different than your "complete" board this year. Mine has changed several times this year alone.

And make sure you use grommets in the holes. lest your cables rub and problems begin.

5stringwonder: I dont actually have a case for it atm, im just going to carry it around by some handles ive got to install, if i ever have to take it overseas ill probably go to the local canvas trimmer or something, hes a really nice dude that can make a zip up case for just about anything....hes also the dude putting carpet on my board.

Updated board - lots of pedals gone, a few added (deep impact and looper) and couple more on their way (Octavius Squeezer and turbro tuner). Some George Ls and a compulator and I'm done (for now).

Yes, those little silver metal boxes are to bypass certain pedals, in my case, the whole second board. (In theory) That way your signal does not deteriorate as it passes through all the pedals. It also has the added benefit of being able to turn on several pedals in one shot.

Usually, yes, they are an fx loop.

A true bypass loop I believe. A way of keeping pedals with bad bypass out of your signal chain or a way to turn on multiple pedals at once.
