'taint much but I feel like posting. My kids like to follow me into practice and play time. Sometimes I take pictures.

Getting their G.A.S. started early, apparently! lol If you ask them what they want for Christmas, will they say "Pedals!" ? lol

Not a bad collection either! Kinda brings back memories... I started my whole effects addiction with a Zoom 506. Which Zoom is that in the back (not the grey one next to the amp)? Is that the G2.1u? How do you like it? I've always kind of wanted to try the B2.1u, maybe use it for pickup jams/church and such...

The G2.1u has treated me pretty well considering the price tag on it at purchase ($60 shipped). It isn't very good on bass as a 'take my bass line and make it a slightly different bass line' effect except for some of the modulations, delays and reverbs. The rest almost universally sucks low end. It works pretty well to tweak the tones on my HOG as long as I'm not using the suboctave from it. That is primarily what I used it for. The wahs sound alright with my HOG, the filters sound alright with my HOG, the distortions sound alright (some of them) with my HOG, but none of those do very well with my straight bass tone.

Where I've really used it a bunch is on some of the noise tracks I've done since Pickles started that thread. There's a lot of good tweaking you can do in there for noise.

The main problem with it for me now is that I'm a knob tweaker and it's really hard to remember what all the parameter controls are. Trying to tweak a flanger at the right time and wondering, "crap, is that depth or rate?' is frustrating. Also in my band I only really use one preset so it's taking up a lot space for nothing.

IMO you could do a lot worse for pickup and go gigs than a B2.1u, especially for the price. But right now I'm holding out for a M13 in hopes that it can both my band board and my obnoxious noise board at the same time.:bassist:

And yeah, my daughter wants a BF-2, Quasar, Pork Loin, and any one of a number of other purple pedals :D

Thanks for the info, I might have to check out the B2.1u! I'm more of a "set-it-and-forget-it" guy, so it might just work. I don't know though... I've turned out to be a pretty big pedal geek... :ninja: lol

Lol. That's pretty funny. You could get her a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] to go with all her purple pedals. :D

Coincidentally, the Pork Loin was my latest pedal purchase. It's a really good mild-to-medium overdrive. I sort of bought it on a whim on an "It's Saturday morning I'm bored so I'll go to GC" trip. Turned out to be one of my more favorite pedals and I've never really been that big of an overdrive fan! :)

My collection is spread out over my basement. I got tired of people having tizzies at the site of my unused pedals, so I chained almost all of my unused pedals in a chain to nowhere....I call it the Ouroboros chain cuz it goes from one pedal all the way around eventually leading back into itself...as soon as I get my camera back, pics shall ensue.

Ok. Here is my modest pedal collection. Can anyone give me some ideas on set up to get the best sound? Meaning which pedals should go in what order? I tried a few things but I'm not sure I'm digging what I've got.

Oh yea and if anyone thinks there's something I should add or subtract, I'd appreciate it. Not really sure what kind of sound I'm going for quite yet because I'm very new to using pedals on the bass, but I'm digging the heavy fuzz/distortion. I love the flanger (although I've heard better on here). Not sure I'll keep the DS-1 but it was a cheap distortion pedal and I was lacking funds.

more pedals incoming - ehx memory toy, mxr BEF, BOD, EBS multidrive, mxr black label chorus, ebs octabass, dano Transparent od, ehx pulsar xo
with big bass board 1, and a few more toys!
