Smurfo-Cide - thanks for the size comparison pic on the Turbo Tuner! i'm TRYING to figure out a way to keep my board the same but get a tuner on. it's good to know that that thing IS a bit tinier then the Pitch Black. have to measure stuff again.... but i think i might have to move something off if i want a dedicated tuner.

the M9 seems to tune about as well as the Pitch Black. but the display is so freaking SMALL. it's fine for before playing, but i'd definitely have to crouch down to see it, so it's not that convenient for mid-gig checkin's. although i play mostly indoors so my basses seem to stay where i set them.

lol.... and i play a 6 string so i DON'T have to do alternative tunings. grrrrrr!!!

nice board by the way. i have a (my first actually NICE) bass on the way in awhile, so i'm gonna need the save spots on the VT Deluxe for different basses.... but how would you compare the OD on the VT vs the Aggro?

Hey behndy,

have you tried putting your pitchblack sideways between the two rows of pedals on the right side of the board? There should be enough space to fit it with the jacks running to the left of the heliotrope and the BOD. Just a thought.

it's hard to see, but the back row has two pieces of wood that i added to raise them up so i can get at them without stepping on the knobs and stuff of the front row. i have big, clumsy feet.

eyeballing it when i was putting it together it LOOKED like there wasna enough room there, but when i get the VT Deluxe i'll try some Pedal Jamming Magic. at that point the inch or so size variance of the Pitch Black vs the Strober might make all the difference.

i might just have to suck it up and get used to the M9 tuner.

The FEA is *highly* recommended. I have recently had both Markbass Compressore and Aguilar TLC pedals. Both great, but I wanted something that could tighten up the low end of a Rob Allen fretless (which has a TON of lows) while keeping the highs open and giving more punch so I could play it in place of a fretted in a funk band. No small task. The FEA is perfect. It isn't "warm" like the Markbass, but I found the MB to be a bit too squishy and if there was enough comp to tighten the lows, it didn't really cut. Once you go dual band, it is hard to go back...

"Tasty Birth" is all H.O.G. w/ the octave being swept quickly + the muff. You have to listen hard b/c it's lower in the mix.

"Walking Dead" is all muff (dirty bass solo part in the middleish).

"Neighborhood" starts off w/ sub/dubbass tone and then is the muff and EHX SMMH.

Nothing recorded w/ the Freqbox yet.
