Post Your Pedalboard 26: Duotriskaidekaphobia

Neither. Just kidding, it just depends on what you're doing. But if you want something like a hold function, you could always just get an EHX Freeze down the road. It does something like that. Then you could have a regular delay AND a hold! :D

i do want the freeze, very badly. My wallet doesn't, however...

i designed my pedalboard to give me space for 24 boss-style pedals, but i didn't take into account the wiring to connect them all - i'm using some planet wave connectors, but they take up so much space...i could fit all of my pedals in a row on my board if i had more of the patch cables that i have..

of course, i'd be more willing to try to scrunch things if the velcro base would STAY on the wood without peeling up, and i'm too broke to get anything to fix it. so i just leave everything how it is for now.

anybody know how to hold down velcro carpet?

Just to relieve some of the curiousity I have caused Behendy since the final pages of PYPB25:

AHHHHHH!!! so... much... EHX... it BURRRRRRNNNNNNS!!!!

*passes out like a little grrL*

*wakes up dressed like a little grrL*

dayum... THAT is a tasty lollipop. dig the pig tails. but the frilly Alice in Wonderland dress is a BIT much.

you know what i always wanted to rackmount on a board? i have an older Alesis... Alexis i think? they made a tabletop matrix selection version, then a rackmount one with save spots.

huh... i think i have an old midi mouse laying around somewhere.

that sir, despite paying homage to the Unreliable Beast (well... for me at least. i have a Usefullness Suppression Field that only seems to target EHX gear. jimmy has an old Micro Pog of mine, said it gives him no trouble beyond one hiccup... bugger never worked right for me) that is E to the H eXe, is a tasty, tasty board.

how you digging the Ring-a-ling-ding-Thing?

woof. and that is a LOT of LS-2 for 5 modulation devices.

well played.

well played sir.

off-topic - gonna watch KICK-ASS!! with my best friend/LGF tonighhhhht. i love that movie. nice to see them actually stay true to a Mark Millar book.

but i think it's horribly inapropriate to spell it with anything but all caps and it must end in at LEAST two exclamation points.

just sayin'.

hurm. on my PT board i just put "Velcro Glue" on the back of industrial strength Velcro. but that is with metal. i... THINK that'd help with wood. but i'm not sure.

and the cables i love are....

if you put them where they're touching (bottom row of my board on first page i think) they add about 2 inches between each pedal. you CAN stagger the pedals, one higher than the other (the Pitch Black is like that between the PPB and Aggy Octa on my board) to decrease it to about an inch between pedals.... but you better be super coordinated or have little, pointy feet. it's hard to click just a single pedal for me when they're that close together. that's why i only did it with my tuner.

and $10 seems sorta steep. i think i pay about $4 where i buy them. and that's in a music store. you should be able to find them cheaper if you look around.

hope that helps!

on ebay you can buy colored plastic molded cables for like $10 a dozen. that's what i use. behindy's cables look fancier, but he is a fancy man and i am a man of the people. and i love pretty colors ;)

my local music store has no such patch cables...they look like you'd be able to PACK them together. How bendable is the chord?

that's why i thought connectors would work better, the chord doesn't get in the way..but then even the connectors are physically 3 finger's worth...

Umm... Thanks?

So far I'm digging the Ring Thing. It's pretty versitile. I just got it in the mail today, so I've only played with it a bit, but I've gotten some really useable sounds out of it. I was worried that it was just going to be a wacky noisemaker, but it's actually pretty useful.

urf. by "connectors" you don't mean the wireless 1/4->1/4 things do you? thise things are bad news for mounted pedals. they'll eventually destroy your input/output jacks. the one's i'm using are very bendable (i get the housings touching with no problem) and they're actually a little less space then the connectors.

yes jimmy i AM a fancy man. with fancy pants. alas, i have no fancy dance. WAY too much of a honkey to do more then the white-boy shuffle.

AHHHHH!!! ERIC'S PEDALS SMELL LIKE FEET!!! SWEATY, SWEATY GIG FEET!!!

.... only thing worse is Drummer Swamp A$$.

*shudders*

I haven't broken a sweat at a show in a long time. Long before I started playing barefoot. It's a shame, really..

i sweat like someone about to follow Jimmy.

hell... i start to moisten up a little just during setup.

Enslickenned Behn = good when playing basketball (i'm all slippery and gross!), not so good when playing bass (i'm all slippery and gross!).

kBASSk - the problem with most connectors like that, besides the size, is that when the pedals **** at ALL on your board (and they all move a little. unless you epoxy 'em down. and a permenant setup is fine right? never want to swap out a pedal right?) it puts too much stress on the jacks. eventually it'll bugger them up.

.... i LOVE the word bugger. i'm gonna move to the UK just 'casue y'all have VERY interesting slang.

fanny's the other side, burning fags is no biggie, minge. MINGE??!?

awesome.

Due to excess not enough boards in thread I am reposting after a rearrange...
l_372a9dce3cc4489f9711b473863a5fa1.png

As you can see I'm maxxed out as of now [this is a PT pro and a PT jr] now I have no choice to up the size:bawl::bassist: One of these days I needz to get some better cables I'm thinking Lava.

that mooger, just sitting there, looks kinda extra, eh? I'll just...take that...*runs*

as for the connectors, i don't really plan on using them once i get patch cables. I know what you mean, it's sawkward trying to not only lift a pedal but also move it sideways, i find myself resetting my whole config to change 1 pedal.

:D

And that is why I need a bigger board:bawl:, I need everything on there and actually do do what I want I need a few more on there plus the rigmod... plus I have plans to get a few moore moog things:D

Yeah, you should have seen what a pain it was to get the moog phase on there, just finding 2 cables both long and short enough [18"] took a while, plus I'm maxed out on power connectons, I really need to reconnect and change some of the daisychains I have going...
