Hey guys,
Getting into the swing of things around here, and wanted to contribute.
I put this together about a year ago, and have pretty much stuck with the layout since then. Stompin' Ground build the case and pedal surface, very solid.
The signal path is a bit odd, but very functional on the gig. Bass goes into the axess buffer/splitter, which sends out three signals, one for the always-on Peterson tuner, one to the "clean" side, and one to the "tube" side. The "clean" and "tube" sides are then brought into the two switchable inputs of the Bassbone.
The "clean" path goes: Octabass ->Compulator ->Deep Impact ->Bassbone channel 1. The Compulator is great in front of the Deep Impact to keep the level very constant for more accurate triggering.
The "tube" path goes: bigshot mix, with Bass-drive ->Phatbass in its effects loop ->Bassbone channel 2. The bigshot mix, blends the clean signal with the overdriven sounds around 50/50. It's also very nice to have the Bassdrive in front of the Phatbass(which is always on) because it warms up the Bassdrive nicely, keeping things pretty amp-like.
The Bassbone drives the whole thing, it lets me change quickly from synth/clean sounds and tube sounds, and with a dummy(not connected to anything) plug in the loop jack, the "boost/loop" switch acts as a master mute for both the amp and the DI. Because the tuner has its own dedicated send right at the front of the chain, I can always tune, even when another part of the chain is producing an highly effected sound, or when the bassbone is muted.
Also worth mentioning is the Burkey Flatliner, which powers everything, including the 12VAC Phatbass, and 15VDC Bassbone(factory mod).
