Now what do I do? Even if I nix one of the compressors and one of the filters, there's just no room. Either I need to build a bigger board, or I need to learn to be more conservative.

...Fortunately I live across the street from a hardware store.

Pedaltrain jr with the other 2 pedals on ;), easy to carry and still looks cool, I'm switching my whole board over to a ptjr is I get chance this weekend.

Nice looking board still :D

Re: the Jet phase, it doesn't suck tone when switched off. However all but one of the phaser settings DO cut the low end and drastically alter the tone. That one good bass setting, though, watch out. It booms and roars and scares children.

Re: the George L plugs, I love 'em. I've been using them for years and they always make me happy. I use mostly the non-chrome-plated plugs, and Canari or Belden coax cable. The one thing is if you monkey with them plugging and unplugging a lot, the screw-connector part can tighten or loosen which sometimes is no big deal (retighten) but sometimes causes a connection fault which means snipping the ends of the cables and reattaching the plugs.

Re: Pedaltrain Jr., maybe I should divide the fx into "essential" and "nonessential" and put them on separate boards. That way I can bring the "nonessentials" only where I have the luxury of spreading out. And where the soundman won't hate me.

The Choralflange is amazing. simply amazing. I compared it to MANY others including analogman's chorus.
Since I don't really use chorus and flange at the same time, having 2 awesome effects in one pedal is ideal for me. I just flip the toggle switch depending if I want chorus or flanger. (most of the time it's flanger) Amazing pedal.

The Psilocybe is awesome as well and yes, I compared it to many others. It's not as pronounced as other phasers but it keeps the low end and adds shimmery wet textures that really sound great. It does have a SMALL amount of volume cut when you engage the effect but not enough to worry about. The 2 toggle switches let you further adjust the sweep.

as far as the wah goes, for years I had one on my board and it didn't get much use. I just found a manual wah too annoying. The envelope filter suits my auto wah needs just perfectly.

what i would suggest is to loose your voodoo and get a One Spot with 2X5 chains only about 15 dollars each, that would save loads of room .Also i would stick you tuner inbetween the 2 rows, it doesnt need its own place on the board as its not a stomper.
and you have loads of room to squash your pedals together i see, they dont need to be all in a line , you can stagger them, this way im sure youll get everything on your board. if you cant , ditch one of the Dod pedals, especially the red one, goodluck!

I have been using it in a looper so far, so I hadn't noticed bass loss. So today I did some experimenting, by putting it at various points in a series chain. What I found was that by itself, the only pedal between bass and preamp, it did not suck any low end when bypassed. However it did lower the overall output level (compared against bass direct to preamp) which could make it seem to lose low end power. Also, I found that it "played well" in combination with some pedals, but not all. I have several different compressor pedals, and when I put the AF9 in series with each of them, sometimes it DID lose some of the low end when switched off. But other combinations were fine. So it may work better or worse for you depending on how it interacts with other pedals.

This is an important point and is true with many pedals on the market. You almost have to look at a pedalboard or signal chain as a group of friends. Everyone doesn't always get along well and everybody doesn't contribute anything useful. You should stick with the ones that make you happy and lose the ones that drag you down.
