still looking for a good compressor and GASsing on an aphex bass exciter. that would do the trick for me.. but yeah..guess money is an issue.

My guitar player found an old keyboard stand in the Church attic and set my board on it. I previously had it sitting on top of two stools. I like to tweak the EQ on the NE-1 and flip the chorus/flanger on the Fulltone for some songs.

Nice board. I think that your setup would really benefit fro a few things.
Firstly, get yourself some decent patch cables. You've spent the money on a planet waves lead for your guitar. You signal chain is only as good as the weakest link and that is currently the cables.
Secondly, get your bass some more strings!

The board is a custom Road Ready Pedalboard. It was a dealer's display that was dumped on Ebay. It had a SPB-8 onboard power supply that ended up being just a shell, no guts to it. The seller refunded me the shipping cost and I scored the board for $50!
I put the Voodoo power supply on there last week and love it. I just bought a set of George L's and they arrived today, so I'll be swapping out all the patch cables pretty soon.
What's the learning curve on switching to a fiver from a four banger?

If you get a 5-string with the same scale as your 4-banger (say get your same bass, only 5-string), it's takes a few hours for your fingers to remember that the E string is really the B, A is really E, etc. etc.
hey guys, um excuse my ignorance but im new to using pedals..
just wondering if anyone else has experienced volume loss with the dod250..
got massive problems when the pedal isn't switched on but plugged in i.e. so much volume loss, inaudible in a band situation? (fine when it is on)
is there an easy solution to this problem apart from using the fx loop

Have you tried changing the battery? No volume loss with mine. If that doesnt fix it and you have already tried different leads then I would say its faulty.

If it sounds fine without the pedal then I would imagine its the pedal thats the weak link.
Short of trying different leads, a different pedal order, powering the pedal off an AC adaptor and trying a different bass to see what happens that is.

Bass -> CEB-3 -> Muff'n -> Punch Factory. The XLR is set to output the wet signal, and the 1/4" is set to output the dry. I set it up that way cus the compressed signal sound remarkably like it's coming out of the practice amp, but it's direct! Then I can just use the amp as a monitor and don't have to worry about miking it up!
I also decided to experiment in getting what I wanted out of a Dist -> Fuzz -> Dist setup, using what I have right now:

It sounds really evil + it runs on 9V compleatly! Unfortunatly, like all previous incarnations it really doesn't sound like bass, however
it may be. I find that there's actually more "tone" out of the 1st setup, so I may stick with that, especially now that I have a good direct sound with the Muff'n.

The bottom of the board is some kinda plastic-foam stuff on which all the pedals except the Punch Factory stayed in place, even when I carried it around
So, I took some self-adhesive velcro and that PF ain't movin' at all
