37" x 18" 5/8" plywood. Covered in black vinyl. I currently am awaiting my Guyatone BR-2 to be shipped. And the board is still in the making.

what kind of patch cables are those? i like em :)

Aren't there a dozen or so clips of the P&C here? Like in the distortion soundclips thread or something like that? Oh wait a minute, I just remembered I'm hosting a few of them for somebody on one of my sites:

But regardless, a search would have answered all of the "what is it" and "are there soundclips" dealios.

gafbass02 - Those stickers showing your settings are awesome :D

Mar00ned - I like those cables, should look good when everythings connected up. Are the white sleeves bendable? or just the black parts? (I'm glad I checked that before posting, I wrote a banned word instead of white. No idea why either :S)

What do you guys think of turning one of these into a pedalboard? Not the whole thing, obviously (although it would be cool) just the wooden tray on the left. It's detachable, and my parents ahve a spare rack.

Will save me money to get pedals as well :P

Here is my mess of a pedalboard.

I plan on eventually replacing the DOD filter with a MF 101 and I also plan on getting the ring mod(MF-102) as well. I will probably replace the Boss Chorus with a rackmount chorus at some point. If I go the rackmount route, then I will also replace the Aphex with a rackmount unit as well. I would like my pedalboard to be neater, possibly getting the pedaltrain pro, but then I have to buy a power supply as well. I definitely need to re-cable, but I am waiting until a change out some of the pedals before I do that.

Henfield! i never knew you played bass. nice Unibass. now i definetly need to see that board in person.

How would you compare the Comptortion to the Tech 21 XXLb?

I used to own the XXL, but I sold it to get a Marshall ShredMaster...Then realised the ShredMaster was **** and bought the comptortion from a mate's sound samples.

The XXL definitely has more gain on it, and it sounds really thick, with no low end loss. The Comptortion also holds the low end perfectly, but is more "grindy". I have the gain on mine maxed, then blended with clean signal for a really nice heavy gritty sound (Think Timmy C but not exactly the same as him).

They are both different beasts, but I love them both equally, so I don't mind which I have on my board. I just can't be bothered to go through the hassle of selling the Comptortion and buying another XXL - I'd rather keep the Comptortion.

Thanks...I just now won an XXL on eBay, and I was considering tracking down a Comptortion as well to compare the two. From your description, though, I may just stick with the XXL. Would you say the XXL at lower gain settings could get a grindy tone similar to the Comptortion?

Yeah they are fairly bendable but some i didn't need to go very far so i had to modify them. I just cut the white sleeves off and then saudered the other half of the cable back together.

Today...must've been the same one. Thanks for taking that nap! Were you the one that was looking for something more grindy and defined to replace your LBM? Because that's exactly the situation I'm in...

Haha, small world... Yea, thats me. I found some sound clips of the XXL and it sounds like it will be exactly what I'm looking for. I ended up ordering one new. Hope it satisfies both our needs
