Post Your Pedalboard - Part III

Well, since my new pedalboard finally showed up and because Bongo is calling my Citrus Squeeze back to the mothership, I figured this would be a good time to post my board.

I have a couple pedals still on the way (thus the blank space on the lower left) but I am pretty happy with everything on here.

I asked the salesman for the most expensive cables he had. I told him that no cables I'd ever heard were without noise. So he plugged in some "nice" cables and hooked it up to my rig. I told him I could still hear noise. So he brought out the finest cables on the rack and hooked it up. And I told him I still heard added noise.

So then he smiled and told me he knew exactly what I wanted. He brought out these cables. "One of a kind" he said. Transparent aluminum with diamond tips with an index of refraction equal to that of air. Almost zero resistance, a near superconductor at room temperature. He hooked up all my pedals and turned on my amp and I heard no noise. Because they are so transparent I just left them hooked up on the board. But now there's some problem with the setup because when I plug in my bass I don't hear anything.

I'm going to contact the company that makes them if anyone has any contact info. He said they were called New Emperor cables or something like that. Anyone know anything about them?

So obviously, I'm not Eric, but I'll throw out my guess-temation...

The SVT-IIIPro isn't exactly an SVT. True its in the SVT series, but the III runs off of a Solid State power section, but a tube preamp. But what makes those all tube SVTs growl like they do is the Power Section tubes getting hot, and at higher volumes breaking up. So without those tubes, it can't do the exact same thing. The SVT-III is a great sounding head, but that sound isn't its sound. So he could use the Sansamp to make get that sound.

Or maybe he's cranking the gain and using it as a distortion instead of a preamp.

My two guesses.

So many thing to answer to:

- I love the big muff to........for he's the brother i never had

- The PSA on bass sounds amazing!!!
It took me some time to figure out how to work with it and I'm more than pleased with the sound.
As you know, it has 10 bass presets, my favorites are the SVT preset(in the dark days before I bought the Ampeg head) and YES(chris squire) preset which was my starting point for my own presets

RE: the Synth: It's... Well.... Decent. lol. I use it mainly as a goof effect anymore. In my old band we did mostly all jam music (DMB, Rusted Root, Phish, etc). Well, the bassist in Phish uses an auto-wah on occasion (Down With Disease, and so on), and Stephan lessard from DMB uses one in some of his live stuff, so I got the synth mainly for that. The auto wah works cool. But overall it's not a *great* pedal. The tracking is kinda poor if you don't articulate the notes very precisely. When you can deal with the tracking issues, you can get some great sounds from it, however.

But, like I said, it is a cool toy, so I use it to tinker with. It does make some cool sounds! :D

Mike is one of my favorite players. From what I understand his ADA takes care of a lot of those effects. And I'm still not sure how he combines effects to get that tone for the intro of DWD...:bassist:

I dig Steffan with Dave as well. All good music you've listed. Good taste:bassist:
