I came up with the design, based off of a pedaltrain but not quite...
I had my dad help me with some of the cutting and drilling so it was some good father/son bonding time.
I used 2x1 for the horizontal slats, and 3x1 pine for the bigger sections as well as the diagonal sides.
Width is 30"

Side shot - This allows a power or intrument cable to be run under the side with no problem

Pedal - I have three more pedals in the mail (boss eq-20 and a few wahs). Im gonna buy a TU-2 tomorrow and possibly get a MD-2 distortion from my guitarded friend who doesnt use it

pardon the GT6 in the background, I play guitar as well...
this is a veiw of the "storage" area underneath the topmost piece of velcro, the front and bottom of the board. I'll put a power strip and a 1spot in here this weekend.

cost of wood - less than $30, velcro $35, rubber feet $2.
About 6 hours total of work, not including time for paint and finish to dry.
I'll do an update once I get all my pedals in and secured on here!

Where is that cavaity and how did you make it?
your not worried about support in the middle? I was with mine, got two side supports and the middle, this thing ain't breaking for a long time!
I've done more to it making it much nicer looking since, but this picture shows the supports better
The cavity is formed by the front and top pieces of 3x1 pine at a 90 degree angle and the bottom 2x1. If you look at the side picture you can kind of see the outline of the cavity.
As far as how I made it, I knew I wanted it to be based off of a pedaltrain - I love those things!
I looked at my pedal and decided 2" or 3" strips would be good, so I went and got some 3x1 board as I already had some 2x1's. I played with different spacings and the differnet boards and figuered out the layout I wanted. The exact layout of mine is (from top down)
3" board
1.5" space
2" board
2" space
2"board
1.5" space
2" board
Its basically a mirror image down the middle except the top piece is 3x1, so I can route cables there or have bigger pedals, whatever.
I messed around with the angle, cut one rectangular piece that was long enough then split down the long diagonal to make the two matching side triangels. From there it was just alot of holding and drilling and nailing.
I covered it in three coats of black spraypaint and two coats of polyurathane. I took a nice big piece of steel wool to it and smoothed it all out.
The velcro and feet went on tonight!

I tried to go for lightweight so I figured I would build it without one and see how it works. It hardly gives at all when I press down hard on my sansamp when the sansamp is in the middle, so I probably wont put one in.
I think its just 3 pieces of board with 4 strips laid across them horizontally - very functional!

that's really nice! I have one word of advice: depending on what you put on there, how much you drag it around, and how hard/sloppy you get with stoomping, you might have a little trouble down the line with that narrow section at the front of your board. It looks like that strip at the narrow point in the front is going to take a lot of weight and stress, and you might end up cracking it there... I mention this only because I know "someone" who learned this from experience....
But it looks great, that is a nice project and great work
I made it, it is a booster, I call it "!!!" actually. I think you can tell by the design what turning the knob does
What gave you that idea?
Yeah, it switches the order of two effects in my chain. I had a use for it when I made it, but not so much anymore...
