yes yes i know, but some of us are bass AND guitar players!
I find guitar makes me a better bass player and vice versa.
Yeah, I play both too. Bass for longer, but I play both. I just thought the whole picture thing was funny.

it's where i learned everything i know about guitar. i almost learned to play just by reading some of the posts. there are a lot of great people on there (not that there aren't on here
)
I bought a cheapy guitar around when I started playing bass, just because I wanted one to mess around with. I agree that doing this makes you a better player. Part of it is that you can figure out what key the guitar player(s) are playing in or what chords they are playing just by looking at what they are playing. It gives me a better ear as well, I get to learn how different chords sound and I started transferring chords I learned on guitar to bass, so I can play the corresponding arpeggios or chords if I so wish, which I do at times.
I also play drums, some keyboard, ukulele (heh), a little tenor sax, as well as some other things I've messed with in the past. Learning different instruments gives you a new take on the instrument you focus on. Knowing drums give me better rhythm, knowing keyboard helped me learn chords better and helps with syncopation and two hand tapping, tenor sax made me more aware of the melody... Tons of reasons to play any instrument. I really want to get a rock organ sometime soon... preferably something comparable to a Hammond B3

in the years i've been playing music, i've picked up and/or learned many instruments (guitar, drums, oboe, tympani, marimba, flute, cello, piano, trumpet, tuba, french horn, alto sax....), but bass has always been my main thang. knowing at least a little about many instruments has proved to be very beneficial to my bass playing.

I think a good idea for this thread is to have a contents on the first post saying whose board is on which page? It would be easier to find peoples board.
I bought a guitar from Rondo a year or so ago. I enjoyed it for about a week, but there's nothing like playing bass.
I'm glad I have a guitar at my disposal (I have each an electric and an acoustic) but I've never spent the kind of money on guitars as I have basses.
I do think it's helpful to understand each instrument and how it figures in to music. I wouldn't say playing guitar (because I do so little of it) has helped me as a bassist, but from learning what I can about guitar and drums etc, it has helped me learn to expand what I do on bass to make a more complete sounding unit.
Nonetheless, no instrument has ever captivated me more than the bass. From the moment I plucked my first double bass string back in 7th grade orchestra, I knew bass was my instrument. The low end is where I will always make my home

I got the morely dual bass wah in the mail yesterday.
It sounds pretty sweet - its a huge pedal!
I'll wait until I get the dunlop wah and have a chance to A/B them to post a new pic of my board.
By then maybe I'll have that tuner and OD...

Yeah I just picked up the 1spot combo pack as well. I love it. The 8 plug chain is a nice improvement over the 5, considering how many pedals I have
All the adapter plugs come in handy as well. I used one in my Tonebender "mod" [as seen here]. No batteries anymore for my tonebender 
He posted a skimmed down version with his swollen pickle and MSD EarthQuake, along with a Korg Tuner. He promised to post the full thing once the ToneCzar came in, but I think a few of his are still being repaired. Idk. Toasted? Any words on the matter?
