i would recommend the CE-5. i'm not a chorus dude, i love my flangers as my "modulation of choice" if you will, but i quite liked the CE-5 and have the same opinions about the CEB-3 as you.

Thanks guys! I've had multieffects for years, so it's having a pedalboard is taking a little getting used to, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out!
(skip down to the Bottom Line for the quick answer)
The Long Answer: Yeah, I thought two chorus pedals on one board would be a little strange too, but I'm kinda picky about Chorus because it's one of my favorite effects. At the moment, they're both still in the evaluation phase... I'm still in search of the chorus pedal that really makes me think "WOW, that's IT!," you know?
But you're right, they ARE set for different sounds... The Boss is set for a more subtle "you can leave it on all the time" effect. It's enough to be noticeable, adding a nice light shimmer, but not too much to be a distraction.
The Clone Theory is a different beast. It's classified as a Chorus, but it's really more of a doubler... think "octaver" but instead of adding a note an octave down, it adds a note at the same pitch (I hope that makes sense), so it's a pretty different sounding chorus than the CEB-3. Also, it can actually do TWO different chorus sounds with the flip of the mode knob. Chorus 1 has a fixed depth and I've got Chorus 2 set heavy on the depth, to an almost watery sound.
Sorry, I know that was a little long-winded...
The Bottom Line: I'm still searching for my "holy grail" chorus. The CEB-3 has nice tasteful sounds and the Clone Theory is a very rich sounding, versatile chorus. Both are really good pedals, but the CEB-3 feels a little TOO subtle sometimes and the Clone Theory is a little on the hissy side.
If I find my chorus holy grail, it'll replace one or both of these and then I'll have even more room for new pedals!
I didn't like the Clone Theory, I don't remember what I didn't like about it anymore, but I actually bought it and returned it... Now I have a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus, and I love it, nice, thick, luscious chorus, which is what I was going for...

Holy grail chorus for me was the Boss CE-20...I loved 6 of the sounds on there and there's only 4 presets
I sold it for the money to buy an effect I'd use more though, as I prefer phaser to chorus. If I ever went back to chorus though, I'd reinvest in one of those.Ah, thanks. I like your reasoning, that sounds pretty cool to me. That'd be some cool sounds from there
Well i do like to think of myself as a source of wisdom and inspiration.
The Voodoo Labs Microvibe does drop the low end out of the bass. It sounds good when either the Boss Chorus or the Boss distortion pedals are on. It might sound even better if it was before those pedals. <hmm>All right! I finally got my board done with pictures! I numbered the chain since the cabling is all under the board so it's hard to follow.
Well, there it is. As if it's not big enough already, there's still a few pedals I want to try and maybe add and/or swap a couple... the power supplies can go underneath the board if they need to, so I've got room to add stuff.

Hey Mickey, how does that Micro Vibe sound for bass? That's one of the pedals I've been eyeballing.
Now on to the next project, a small board with wah/compressor/chorus/tuner. I play bass for a church choir and bringing in the Death Star this morning was cool, lots of ooo's and aahhh's, but it's just too big.

The other Boss choruses (or would that be chori? 
lol) are all definitely on my list to try. Fortunately, they should all be pretty easy to find at local GCs (with the exception of maybe the CE-20?). I've heard some pretty good things about all three. Hopefully I'll be able to A/B/C them side-by-side.
I've also heard lots of positives about the Analogman, but the thing that worries me is that they say "The DEEP setting may have a little more white noise," right on their own site. I REALLY like what the Clone Theory does, but it only cost me $120 and the hiss that IT has is why I'm questioning it. The $225 price tag, the statement about white noise and the fact that I can't play it before I buy it all make me think that the Analogman, like the Clone Theory, might not be the right one for me.
I just got my board done on Saturday, so I think what I need to do is spend a little more time with both the CT and CEB-3 to let things simmer in my brain for a bit before I go spend MORE money.

speaking of which, I realized the other day that all the pedals on my board sound great on both bass and guitar... maybe not with the same settings but still, weird huh?

Lucky score on eBay. It sounds awesome both with and without the power wah. I was impressed with the tone WalBassplayer got with it in his videos, but as he has said, the videos don't do the pedal justice. It really does sound incredible. I was surprised how versatile it can be too. Between the Fuzz knob and the Bass/Treble knob, you can change the sound it produces by a large margin.
It ended up costing me just over 200 bucks. I was a little skeptical at first considering the cost, but I don't regret it whatsoever now. The pedal could be passed off as new as well which makes the cost better. Getting one shipped over new from the UK would put the unit right around 300 bucks.
It's worth keeping an eye out on eBay though. I've had it in my favorite searches list for maybe a couple months, and I've seen about 3 Tonebenders come up for auction in the states, as well as a few other variations of older models.
The lack of an AC plug sucks a little bit, you have to use a 9 volt to power it. The lack of a LED is a little annoying, if you happen to leave the pedal activated it could drain the battery without you knowing it, though the pedal is true bypass so even if the battery is drained, with the pedal off you can still play as normal.
Those two little nuisances aside, the sound this pedal makes was worth every penny. I'm honestly considering just dropping the XXL from the pedalboard.
the 9V only annoys me a little bit as well as not having an LED.. i think i'll wait a little while. see if they make any revisions to the model or something, and spend money on other things, heh.
i LIKE IT. Oops> I use the "blues" mode and turn the tone knob almost all the way CCW. Then dial in the dirt and boost as needed. It sounds good (to my ears) alone, and better when the Boss dirt is already on. Those two give me the Blur, Song #2 Bass tone (nasty).

I had never gotten around to actually buying a pedalboard before now, because I'm a simple guy: two flavors of overdrive and a tuner is generally all I need on bass. But it's still a hassle getting them out of their boxes, setting them up and fiddling with patch cables and power supply, so I gave in and got an NYC pedalboards "lunchbox" which arrived today.

But it's still a hassle getting them out of their boxes, setting them up and fiddling with patch cables and power supply, so I gave in and got an NYC pedalboards "lunchbox" which arrived today.

Just found an old picture of my pedalbag. Reason why I used a bag was cos I had a bad case of the slipped disco,
and had to find ways to lighten my carrying load, so enter the el-cheapo Westfield pedalbag! It looked like this at the start:
^^^ Nice little space there to put my setlist (if any). I can't look at this picture anymore, puts a tear in my left eye thinking of my sold Mammoth.
Onto happier things, the board evolved when I got my pay-cheque:
^^^ This was about 3 months after though. Went through probably 10 unseen pedals before it got to its current state.
But suffering from Pedal Flatulence always makes one find a way to squeeze more pedals into a tiny bag,
and the improving spine condition didn't help either! So now, another month later, and having removed the dead rodent due to space constraints:
^^^ Oh yeah, I had to evict the EBS Microbass as well to make way for another drive pedal and the Verbzilla (thanks Spanky for the GAS). It's still in the chain but outside of the bag. What the heck,
as long as my spine isn't complaining...
Effects order:

Ok...so I finally finished my new & smaller board. It's got all the stuff that I need. The Analogman is running on 12 volts right now. I'll try 16 volts if I still get distortion. I haven't been able to put it through the paces yet...just the basics.
Signal Chain: Bass --> Volume (tuner using the tuner out) --> Compulator --> Sans Amp --> Mini Chorus --> BF-2 --> Phase 90 --> Aguilar DB900 --> Markbass LMII

indeed! i really do like the HM-2... but if that's the Humphrey MT-2 on your board, then i'm a little more into it! the samples i've heard sound awesome.
