my studio as of now is:

as of now, im saving to get a boss br-1200cd and another mic or two.

I spent August thru December hanging 1/2" soundboard and 5/8" sheetrock (alone!!!) and installing new windows. It was stressful having to finish before baby number two was born, but at least my wife was 110% behind the idea of constructing the studio and getting all my gear out there!

I don't have pics, but I use two monitors at my desktop with the onboard POS and a Radeon 9200 to support both of them.
On top of that, 1.8 GHz processor
512 Mb RAM
one external DVD/ CD writer/player
one WORKING internal dvd /cd reader
soundblaster audigy soundcard (unused)
Alesis multimix 8 USB mixer (my used soundcard)
a Sony STR-V15 (classified as vintage, at least according to ebay. I got it from my grandfather after he died so must be)
Realistic SCT-41 stereo cassette deck (same case as above)
two 28" tall marantz speaker cabinets (same case as above)
an Akai X-2000 S Reel-to-reel, 8track, and cassette player/recorder. (technically my father's, but it's in my room)
a JVC FS-G5 5-CD changer w/ radio.
Sony MDR v600 headphones
Yamaha Clavinova electronic piano with custom organ pedals.
midi to USB adapter.
oh and more on the computer:
one 200 GB harddrive with a 40 GB harddrive.
My main recording method: Cubase LE.

slip disc-- Glad you posted that. That room seems about the same size as mine-- and same philosophy-- bright and open, taking bands live rather than a warren of isolated rooms.
I hope to build mine up to that level.

Ok, I finally get to participate in this thread!
I just got the desk put together this afternoon, so I'm not sure how long this set-up will last. I think once I get a rack back from a friend, the effects you see and a few others will be moved down to where you see the V-Bass now. And I'll be picking up another power conditioner to go in the top left next week, as well as some Gramma pads for the monitors.

here's my midi sequencing centre:
I'm still recording audio on my pc, but all that will change with the introduction of an alesis multimix 12, usb hub, logic pro (running express at the moment and i need to be able to create my own sample banks) and an external hard drive!
after all of that, I'm looking to get an electric drum kit together.
