Broughton HPF/LPF with boost to the rescue!It will work, but the input impedance of the 1/4" inputs is very low for a passive instrument. Might be fine with an active bass though.
It'll probably sound a little better if you have some kind of bass preamp pedal (or otherwise) to shape your tone and raise it to line level first.
You can't use the mic input with a passive bass, the input impedance is WAY too low. Typically ~3kMicrophone preamps - I count six in the photo - may be a bit overloaded by even a passive bass. You might need to turn down the volume on the instrument to avoid the resulting distortion.
