Praise Report: GHS Precision Flats

Ha...just following the crowd again I guess...
But seriously, I'd be interested in purchasing one. How much?

I'm going to assume that the price will be something around where our other shirts are, which is around $10-15 (aiming high). We're going to see about getting the 50th logo printed on black, red and brown shirts.

Why did the GHS Official get banned?

Totally my fault.

I was using the GHS Official account during the day (while at work) and then using this one in the off hours; that's against the Commercial User policy. So, we are in the process of merging both accounts to this one, and then I will handle everything moving forward on this account.

So, no huge deal except that I didn't read the policy that I hit the "click to approve" button on. The admins have been more than understanding, I'm reading it now, and we'll be good from here on out.

Might just go back to chromes then. The 0760M feel much stiffer than the regular chromes and if the ghs are even looser than chromes, they might not feel stiff enough for me.

Such a pity, the 0760M are probably my favourite and least favourite string all rolled up into one.

I just strung my 78P with the 3050 Regular set. I had LaBella 760FS on prior. I had to tighten the truss rod 3/4 turn to get the same relief I had with the LaBellas (.012 on E at 7th fret). I am in the process of breaking in the GHS set and liking them. The LaBellas were on for two months and a bit too much sustain and upper mids for me on that bass.
PS... today is August 23, 2014 and there are still no 34" scale available from GHS... only the same old "extra" long set for the Precision flats. What happened to that plan??

When i purchased the 34" scale strings i went to
www.bassstringsonline.com
If you go to the flatwound section for ghs he sells them as singles so you can make a custom set.

Exactly... the .105 E is the one problem string and they don't make it in a 34" scale .105...Doh!! All the others are not an issue.
The .105 E presently requires that you wrap the body of the string around the tuning peg which is not the best situation. How big a deal can it be to correct this and make a .105 in 34" scale?? GHS...?? Hello??

Wait... no .070 or .090 either. Can't make a 3050 Regular set. That's what I am using. lol... my luck.

Keep in mind, though, the E string in "long plus" (38" ball-to-silk) is the only one you need to be concerned about as the tuning posts for the other three are far enough away not to be a problem even with the extra length. (at least on the Fender-style headstock)

I hope our friend at GHS is still around and working on that 34" scale set too

Still here, never left.

Honestly, a bigger deal than I thought. It took me almost nine months to get the go ahead to make a medium scale set of flats, and so far the response has been good on that. So, I'm hoping to use that as leverage to get that 34" scale .105 made.

It's on the forefront of list of things to do for bass players. Problem is that a lot of the new stuff I've developing is for other musicians as well, so sadly a .105 gets pushed aside for a new line of other strings (the Round Core Bass Boomers is a perfect example). I'm going to hope by BPL! this November, but now that I've been here for a bit (as opposed to when I first made claims last summer), I'm not guaranteeing it. However, I've been pushing for it, for whatever that's worth.

On my '76 Precision, I have just about a quarter turn/wrap on the tuning post that is unsilked string. Honestly it's no big deal. It's still the best sounding flatwound E string I've ever heard. I was just wondering what all the fuss was about when so many are so obviously pleased with this stringset.
