Did you get this fixed?Does anyone find their E to be a bit muddy? I've been finding lately that I think I'm falling out of love with these strings at least on my Mike Lull P and I feel like the E is partly to blame. I've tried replacing the string and it doesn't make a difference so it's not that.
Did you get this fixed?
No. I gave up on these on my Lull. Though I did put them (though a fresh set) on my fretless and they work better there. But the E is definitely thumpier than the rest of the set.
How long did you have them on the Lull before you gave up?
Yeah to get the set really balanced, it really takes 4+ months, sadly. Before that time the D&G have some sort of 'zing', the E is dead and the A is somewhere in between. You should give them more time and play them regularly to get trough that 'phase'.
The Chromes.G string almost inaudible with the GHS or the Chromes?
Pickup is almost touching the G string with the Chromes.Seems like a thing with pick-up height more than a string problem. My G had the problem that it cuts better than all the other strings.
I'm loving the PFs on my PJ Bass! Beautiful sound and great feel. The only problem for me is, cutting through in a live mix. Never had that happen with Chromes or Fender flats. I've tried EQing of course, but only had limited success. Any suggestions?
