Praise Report: GHS Precision Flats

I don't have any 'back room deal' or get compensated in any way by GHS. I just happen to like their strings, and my reviews are honest if nothing else.

Man it's been a journey. I just hate the way they sound out the box had them 3 times and removed them each time. I'm sticking it out this time, a couple weeks in and a couple hours of play each night they are finally settling down a touch. Sounding good with a fender jazz. I turn the tone knob down a bit to cut the brightness and love that sound just hoping they break in sooner than later.

I put mine back on my l2500, thumpy goodness, the top end was much more present than I remembered, it cut the bite out of the l2500 and made it sing
I need to learn how to dial the low end down to be able to switch from parallel to series to and not have that overload and make amp all distorted
also, does anyone have ideas/suggestions about putting used flatwounds back on a bass without having the silk all ugly and messed up?

I put a set of the Mediums on my P Bass just a few days ago and have been working to break them in. I've had La Bella 760fl's, Chomes and a set of the old fender flats on this bass....still searching for just the right string to match this bass and hoping the GHS's will do the trick. So far so good, nice balance between tension and flexibility, however all flats are a bit "off" sounding out of the package, these are no exception. I'll be bringing the P bass to my gigs this weekend hoping to accelerate the break-in process. I've used all sorts of flats and rounds, mostly on passive Fenders so ill give a more detailed report post break-in.
i'm at the one month mark and they are starting to mellow a little but i'm hoping they mellow more. i play about an hour every day so i'm putting the time in. still a little twang on the D and G i could do without and hope that fades.
yeah i've heard 6 months is the standard for GHS on here, but no one ever says 6 months after playing x hours a day. so i don't know what's what. i'm investing in giving them a shot as i've tried all the other ones and so far really like the character and sound of the GHS. I can "guesstimate" the sound after full break in with a little tone knob roll off and i like it.
You just have to play on those strings more. Single string scales. Chromatic triplets up and down.
I'd say 90 to 100 hours to get to the point I wrote post #1. Double that for six months of bliss. The strings just keep getting sweeter. Yes, I use Goby String Wipes as I want these strings to last the rest of my life.
