Praise Report: GHS Precision Flats

Right, at which point there was nothing else to discuss. You asked if the string was bad, I said it was hard to diagnose long distance. I put a set on here and didn't have the same thing, and we both came to the realization that the set you'd had on for months may have had a bad E string.

What else were you looking for? What resolution were you hoping to get?

If you read my 3025 sharing here, I already mention that 3025 feel loose and supprising loud output on my earlier report.
Later she become dead and life less tone , I think that is normal like the M3050 set I own before.
I report here but someone disagree me, so I need to figure it out . I let my friend help me try to settle in the string around couple week. The result are same , E are totally lifeless and string are loose feeling.
I spend time for it, until bring to bass guitar tech , he suspect E string has issue.

If I know the E string already meet problem on first week , sure I will email GHS or asking you as early as I can.

Ofcause I am looking for solution because I bought a faulty E string from your company, do I did wrong ?Do you think I am bring problem to you, Jon ?

That's not necessarily the notion of a bad string off the bat. A string with a bad winding has less output and an unmistakable buzzing sound. It's immediate.

It's understandable that someone not used to a .095 E string right away will call it loose with more output than they're used to. That's probably why people were disagreeing with you initially.

Right, and we discussed all this. So again, what resolution were you hoping to get, once we determined that the E string might've had an issue?

The E string on the second set I bought are totally different, she have no weird loud output, no loosing feel and sound right.

If you or GHS cant give me any resolution, just reply me. Sure I can accept because I am from far asia. What I looking for is your /GHS concerns about my problem. That's all. I should feel great and touch if GHS did it.

How was I not concerned about this? I grabbed a set off the shelf and strung up one of my basses to try and replicate your issue. I couldn't, and as we talked a bit, it seemed like there may have been an issue with the E string.

There isn't much I can do after that point, and from your last correspondence, it sounded like this was resolved. But apparently it wasn't, because it looks like I didn't do enough for you to be satisfied.

My last correspond on our private conversation is my local tech suspect the factory issue on E string. Later, I dint get any reply from you. Is that call concerns ?
I am not say I am not satisfied with you, just because after our last conversation on 7 Aug, you not with me anymore.
I am not satisfied with GHS , no single email reply. So, what purpose customer support do actually ?

I'm not really sure what you wanted me to say after that? It got to the point that it could've been the string, did you want me to just reply with "Okay" or something else? From my perspective, we had narrowed it down to the string. There wasn't much after that to resolve. Now, if I missed something in this correspondence, I'm sorry about that, but you need to tell me what you were expecting out of this whole thing.

To be fair, you wrote me, the tech support email at GHS and general email at GHS at the same time. When Dave (our inside guy who gets these) saw the email, he talked to me and I said "Yes, he's been talking with me on Talkbass."

So, that's why you didn't get any second correspondence from GHS. Because you contacted me at the same time, and at that point, you WERE receiving attention from GHS. If you'd gotten anything else from those emails, it would've been redundant.

I've brought this up to the sales staff as that is an issue.

Jon, if GHS can make me replacement E string sure I am happy while earlier August before I bought the second set.

At the moment, I expert nothing from you or GHS.

What I hope are, once GHS get some email or response about weird loud output, loosing feel(not floppy) and lifeless sound E string on fresh Ghs3025 set, even the user report you after a Months. I hope GHS will concerns them and give them a replacement.
Dont lost your valuable buyer/user.

Off topic.
I recall that labella and Sadowsky send me a replacement single string in past with no excuse. But, the problem on those string are easy figure out, problem ball end winding and dead A string.

This 3025 dead E string are different, just because I think that is normal until bring argue with others 3025 user.

For @Linnin, "balanced" means a 55G. Nothing else matters. No point trying to convince him otherwise. ;):D
I mean balanced tension. I don't even know if that is possible or even desirable in a flatwound stringset. As far as well balanced string-to-string volume & tone goes, there are some good sets out there. Most of them are wound by GHS. One brand proclaims loudly on it's package "Perfectly Balanced!". Yet no tension figures are published. So perfectly balanced what? Marketing Puffery?

Would something like this be good enough to be called "balanced tension"?

Precision Flatwound CM3050:

G 045 - 41.5 lbs.
D 060 - 46.5
A 080 - 44.9
E 105 - 41.2

This is true. The Pressurewound ML7200, both sets of the Balanced Nickels (4L-NB/4M-MB) and the Brite Flats L3075 are just a few of the examples.

Every single set can't be "perfect balanced" as they claim, so it must be just a marketing thing. ;)

That may well be as close as you're going to get. Do you really feel very much difference when fretting on the D string vs the E? Or the A and the G? Run some disco octaves like "Funky Town" or "Stepping Out". How much extra pressure do you feel if at all? I've not played that particular set, but I'd be surprised if the string-to-string balance of volume and tone weren't damn near perfect.

Just ordered a set of the CM3050s. I like the numbers on paper, and I remember finding the A string on the Medium set to be too tight by comparison to the other strings. These should be perfect.

They’re going on my Fender P which also just received a Nordstrand NP4a. I may wait just a bit to change the strings out because damn that bass sounds good right now with Boomers on. :)

I also ordered some Round Core Boomers for my Yamaha Attitude bass, and Pressurewounds for my Jazz. A final send-off order from @SLaPiNFuNK at BassStringsOnline :)

I have not played the CM3050, but I have played the Fender 9050CL, 45-60-80-105, which sounds and feels nicely balanced.
