Prat Original I, 4 string... yes! 4 string!

I love to see a website where you can preorder expensive instruments, but no physical business address is listed. How would you mail them a check? Where are you ordering from? Red flag number one

My empathy isn't working today but I am sorry you lost out.

That, is some serious B.S.
So did he take it with him to Spain?
I thought you said he left all the work he had here with "other people"...?

@lowendmafia ... I see by your profile that you are in Phoenix.
I live in Mesa. My shop is in Chandler.
I build a heck of a nice bass. And am not stupid enough to trash my own rep. by screwing anyone over. ...quite the opposite actually.
If you are ever inclined to start fresh, with a local builder who cares about client satisfaction...(& who you can keep your eye on.) ;) ... Give me a shout.

Seems to be a lot of this going on lately, sorry the OP is going through this . I can see how somebody's life can implode through bankcruptcy or divorce, but why spread the pain? If a luthier can't finish a commission, the least they can do is return the unfinished instrument to the client. I don't get the mindset required to just walk away.

Sorry to hear everyone is still waiting on theirs. I got mine in May and I'm mostly happy with it (growing on me the more I play it).
Yes, he's in Spain now, but afaik all the basses are here in the states at a couple shops (finishing shop in TN, assembly/setup in OH).
Mine wasn't perfect, and there was some stuff that was forgotten. However, he did his best to try to rectify the issues. It looks like the finish shop got sloppy without him there to supervise/do the work himself.

I've also been talking with some other customers that are still waiting...sad this is happening to everyone.

Thank you for your quote!

Yes guys, I moved to Spain for my daughter health problems (not deported haha), and I delayed last basses made in USA. No problemo, almost all basses are delivered (only one remains, from a great friend, thank you for your patiente!) and I´m working in new made in Europe Prat Basses orders (my hands are the same here or there).

Unfortunatelly, this thread changed actors. Lowendmafia had his refund, and that history is in the past.
But bass is almost done!!!

I feel bad because I didn´t post here pictures and explanations about the building, but here are few ones:
