I know I probably posted earlier in the thread, but I have a couple of minutes to re-post.
This is a 1963 P; originally it was Oly White, but when I got it in 1967 the finish was all chipped up and I don't like that, so I had it re-painted a Ford Gold metallic around 1972. The neck decal shows that the neck is around 1972; the truss rod broke in the original neck and I had to replace the neck quickly for a gig I was playing. Of course, in 1972 the P was just an old bass and no one thought twice about keeping the old neck.
Oh, and the flatwound strings on it are the ones I used when the neck was replaced - they're around 40 years old now.
