Wow! Thanks so much for all of your suggestions and recommendations. I have a lot of reading to do!

I've been giving this a lot of thought and I think I could probably do what I need with a headphone amp. The pedals on my board give me more than enough options for tone shaping. I really like the idea of an all-in-one preamp/OD/DI/phones amp too.

Definitely going to take a look into the Darkglass Element and the Ultras, Ampeg SCR-DI, G-K Plex, Palmer Pocket Amp Bass, SLO and the Rolls options.

I think I'm going to buy several preamps and headphone amps to try for myself. That's really the only way to do it, as we all know. I ordered a Rolls PM351, a Darkglass Element and a Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra. A buddy of mine plays with a guy who is going to let me borrow an Ampeg SCR-DI too.

Thanks to everyone here, I have a list to work with and a place to start.

Things began arriving so I have been playing with the setup a bit.

The Darkglass Element, as cool and useful as it is, is going back. I appreciate everything that it is capable of but I don't think it's what I want.

Rolls PM351 is cool and I think I will probably stick with it. I really like how simple it is and since I have a lot of tone shaping available from my pedals, the clean nature of the Rolls is perfect. The power supply that comes with it is noisy as hell. Sounds great and really quiet on the 1-Spot though.

The Ampeg SCR-DI didn't do much for me. It is a huge pedal compared to the others and I found it difficult to get a good balance of volume and tone. It overloaded easily (not in a pleasant way). I could get it to sound good, but it was too quiet. When I turned up the level, the clipping ruined the tone. Oh well, at least I know for myself and I didn't have to buy it to find out.

Still waiting on the DG Alpha Omega Ultra to show up.
