Preamp + power amp club?

Currently running a GK 2001 RBP preamp through the power section of a Genz Benz Shuttlemax 9.2. I used to run one through a Crown XLS 1000 but sold it. Just acquired the preamp about 2 weeks ago. In case it ever quits, I have the backup pre from the Genz.

I was wayyy into the pre/power setup for many years. Best of the lot was a vintage Alembic F2B into a Stewart World 2.1. I still did a ton of others; SansAmp PSA-1, Alembic F1X, Randall, Aguilar, Mesa, etc. and power amps by Carvin, Crown, Crest, Nady, other Stewarts, et. al. So flexible, but I found the tone I was looking for about fifteen years ago with the Eden WT-405 head. Haven't looked back, although I still have the SansAmp PSA-1 for recording. Best tool for that application that I've ever had.

I'm in this club. I run two Ashly BP-41 preamps into a QSC PLX 2402 (one preamp into channel A, the other preamp into channel B). Each channel of the power amp pushes a SWR Son Of Bertha. This setup allows me to essentially have two separate rigs in one stack...great for taking advantage of Ric-O-Sound.

I have owned integrated heads by Peavey and Eden, and the other pre/power set-up I had was Trace Elliot. The one above is, by far, my favorite.

I've got the classic Yamaha PB-1 and an old crown USA made power amp that I still pull out from time to time when I need a warm tone, man does it sound nice into my stack of Bag End 15's. 90's enough for you?

Stereo (neck & bridge pickups separate) to SansAmp RPMs, one for each pickup. Then to the Rane DC24 stereo compressor. After that the Lexicon MX200 stereo effects for a little reverb. Then to the Rane AC22B Stereo crossover to get high & low channels for each pickup. Highs are mixed, and lows are mixed and sent as high & low channels to the Carvin DCM1540L to drive Ampeg SVT 410's with the high and Ampeg SVT 15Es with the low channel.

I run either a BBE BMAX or a SansAmp RPM into a QSC's GX5, powering a pair of Markbass neo 4x10s. I prefer the tone of the BBE but more often run the SansAmp these days because I seem to clip it much less often for some reason.

Well, some of us don't have the luxury of powering down. When I find a lightweight rig that isn't crazy expensive and can handle my gigs, I'll gladly switch over to it.

We play some shows where the PA is only for vocals and kick drum. Fairly common in the world of original rock and metal. Not every show is like that, of course, but we have to be prepared for the ones that are.

It's great just DI, with a power amp, or running through my Mesa D800

MTN: quick question...do you just connect the output of the Noble into the "return" jack of the D800?

I'm currently running a Sonic Farm 2di4 and using a GB Shuttle 9.0 as a power amp. Hoping to switch to one of Radbass' ICE-based modules soon.

Kesslari: how are you liking the 2di4?

I'm running a Jule Monique into a QSC 3602. I might switch to an Avalon U5, I've liked that sound for recording.
