Not my immediate plan... But not ruling it outAfter the neck, are you going tonget a new body OP?
and a Warmoth neck is way better than Fender.Well .... I didn't like the MIA fenders , the didn't sound the way I expected them to ...
It's a nice personal project , kind of making it my own bass ....
It's much cheaper , by now I have spent 470$ , even with a brand new Warmoth neck , it's still cheaper than a MIA fender
Sorry, I didn't mean to be condescending, just friendly banter... Apologies. Thanks ...
Well , I did use google ... Did check things out just before ordering the hipshot tuners to fit the neck holes .... Ended up drilling anyway ... So I'm either stupid or something went wrong somewhere LOL
They now make roasted ash bodies. I bet they're killer. Not my immediate plan... But not ruling it out
In a couple of months I'll order the neck .... See how happy I am with the bass, much much later on , if I'm still happy with the bass ,I will consider a natural non finished body or maybe a transparent finish ...
How different from maple does a bubinga neck sound? I've always been curious about that.I just got a Warmoth bubbinga quarter sawn J-neck for my squier body - it rocks.

Tuner ferrules have always been an issue for me as well. Usually they are too small. I just discovered that best bass gear sells ferrules in different sizes.
I was just checking these out on their site .... They are sexy !!!They now make roasted ash bodies. I bet they're killer.
You asked ... I answered ... Then I had to check ..... Did a simulation on warmoth's site , came up with a 500$+ body ..... Can't afford it yet , but now it is stuck in my head !!!! G.A.SAfter the neck, are you going tonget a new body OP?
And I recommend calling and having a conversation with the owner Tommy. He's a great guy, and if you tell him your goals and what you're doing, he can make great suggestions. The USACG 5-string neck I got from them is light as a feather and solid as a rock. FWIW, they used to be employees at Warmoth, and for some reason broke away. USACG is easily as good, but as I said earlier, the necks require a bit more work to get them playable - such as a nut install and possibly fret leveling. But highly recommended. Thanks for whoever mentioned USA CUSTOM GUITARS ...
Their explanation page is just great ... Gonna sit down and read through all that info

The in-stock P-bass bodies that are color-finished are around $300. The ones without finish are around $180. And then is the screaming deal section.... Personally I wouldn't pay $500 for a body, but I'm happy to hit it with Minwax or lacquer from a rattle can and be done with it.You asked ... I answered ... Then I had to check ..... Did a simulation on warmoth's site , came up with a 500$+ body ..... Can't afford it yet , but now it is stuck in my head !!!! G.A.S
When you replace the body, will you reassemble the squier from all the things you replaced? You asked ... I answered ... Then I had to check ..... Did a simulation on warmoth's site , came up with a 500$+ body ..... Can't afford it yet , but now it is stuck in my head !!!! G.A.S
I'm hoping to sell them before .... I did a little package of the pickups and wiring + tuners + strap holders+ bridge for 60€ (I'm in Paris France) hoping someone will want to experiment or need the replacement ... When I'll get a new neck, I'll mount the old tuners on the old one and add it to the package for an extra 20€-30€ , maybe it will be more interesting thenWhen you replace the body, will you reassemble the squier from all the things you replaced?
