Precision neck ... Suggestions

I think changing the neck is crossing the line personally but I did consider it. Found a Matt Freeman p bass neck for sale on Craigslist. Cheaper than any Warmoth or All Parts.
I like what you did with the bass, looks pretty maxed out. I went the vintage route...here's mine:

Vintage nitro pickguard. SD SPB-1 neck, Apollo noiseless Bridge. Bourn full-size pots and vintage push back cloth wiring. Copper shielding on pickguard, and shielding paint in the cavity. Switchcraft jack etc... Did some minor fret dressing to make it play like butter. It's getting a nice natural relicing from me playing the C@#p out of it.

My musikraft one piece maple p-bass neck is by far the nicest sounding, looking, feeling and Most stable neck i've had in my hands since i started playing 24 years ago.
The p Bass body they sould me was Bad quality with a horrible paint Job.
Very strange

My favorite(?) bass is a squier walnut satin PJ body with a fender mim jazz neck. dimarzio PJ pups, gold gotoh bridge, liscenced by schaller tuners, brass nut, stock pots.

I think MIM necks are the best bang for the buck. Just find a good one. I like dark rosewood. early 90s MIM had some brazilian rosewood boards.

Another vote for Allparts, (the B-stock for around $130 would be an excellent deal), if standard rosewood or maple with dot fret markers is good enough. Excellent quality (as good, and IME better than American Fender necks, and much better than Mighty Mite). I'd go Warmoth only if I wanted non-Fender options (woods, fret wire, etc)

I got my PJ for 185$
Then pickups were 140$
Hipshot tuners 100$
Gotoh bridge 30$
I think the strap holders were about 15$

So by now I spent 470$

The neck will be the most expensive upgrade ...

I expect you'll go to a standard size body eventually. This is a great way to learn to care for your bass - if you built it, you can fix it.

People should compare what you'd pay a luthiery school to teach you this vs. your parts cost. That's where the value is.

You can use the old neck to practice your fret work.

What about the body of that bass is nonstandard in size?

Finally did the last ... well almost last upgrade (if you consider changing the string tree as an upgrade)

Was hesitating a lot between mighty mite and Warmoth , my budget convinced me to get a mighty mite , and I am very happy with it , just need to smooth the frets a little ..... so here's the result

Been looking to do the same with my Affinity... did the Hipshot tuners fit the holes? what type are they? bridge holes also fit?
Is the new neck really that big difference? worth the costs?
