Primary Blue

I am all about all kinds of blue. Used to have a drop dead gorgeous Lakland 44-60 in ice blue. But I want to see some 1980's ice cream helmet blue. Talkin bout some kids' toy blue. The fiesta red of royal blue.

Okay, I was holding off on flashing my trans-blue parts-bass on the thread, but others are doing it, so eff' it! Sorry, Dustin, but it's become a moral imperative.

Wouldn't be a good enough reason not to do it anyway. But please expound, do you mean because of the additive/subtractive colors? Like cyan, magenta, and yellow are primary? Regardless it was the best way I could think of at the time to communicate what I meant to the kindergarteners in us all. That carvin grabber blue is exactly what I was trying to describe. Crazy how rare that color is. And for that matter, all the regular-ass colors are pretty rare. Orange, red, yellow, purple, pink, green. If I had a fender style bass business, my first order of business would be to offer a line of bold, flat, skittles and M'n'M colors.

Simply a social commentary on how we grasp onto concepts and ideas that we are taught and never question them again

Not offended in the least! Just curious. Would be a silly thing to get offended about. Regardless I don't like the idea of not correcting misinformation for fear it would offend someone. If it's wrong it's wrong.

Blue Yamaha rbx 260, body and fretboard lovingly hand-reliced by an enthusiastic 1-year old with a toy hammer, but the dings don't seem to have any affect in its function.

In fact my only real complaint about it was a hum that went away when I touched the strings, fixed by my amateur shielding job. But I was a little worried I'd screw that up, and also curious to try a bass with a bridge pickup, so before I finished the shielding I also bought a new trbx504. Alas, that only came in black.

I like both basses very much.

I thought I'd give up the old one, but decided it's fun to have an extra bass around to experiment with.

You want good primaries, you gotta look at toys. They work super hard on nailing primaries in the toy biz.

I think its the same reason you don't see a lot of primary blue, non metallic cars. I think the majority of people just don't find it all that appealing. Personally a solid color blue comes off as cheap looking.

I would like to hear an explanation on how blue is not a primary color, when the 3 primary colors are Red, Blue, and Yellow. This is basic art class stuff
