In February 2006, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) fined Behringer $1M,
...
guilty in 1992
...
"guilty in 1992"
1 lawsuit - in 1992, found guilty - Wow
And they paid.
What were you doing in 1992 that you no longer do? Ever make a mistake? If you paid for your mistake does it matter?
How many other companies have you purchased from that haven't been sued or fined for something? There were lawsuits against Aphex also.
Behringer resolved the FCC Compliance issue before the ruling. Hey they passed Europe CE, and all their stuff did pass FCC anyhow. 50 out of 1000's products. And they are ROHS compliant which you don't need to be sell in the US. When is the FTC going to get on board with this?
They have some great gear. Not all may meet your needs, they don't always meet mine, but don't dis them for old news.
I get the meaning of the word clearly, it is semantics. Tell me exactly, other than it's a softer fuzzier word, how it differs from "Outright liar so long as it makes my point, right or wrong"
If you want to come into the thread and be honest fine but you, in an effort to shove your (obviously incorrect or you wouldn't feel the need to fabricate data) opinions on us, are making up nonsense and that is not a positive contribution to ANY discussion on ANY topic regardless of you preference to use that tactic.
If you have REAL data like Calaverasgrande did then provide it and we can discuss it but making up nonsense is not cool.

Actually, this relatively young company has been sued by at least six different competitors for the same issue. Basic details can be found here:
Behringer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I normally hate linking to Wiki, but its a good place to start for those that don't really understand Behringer's R&D process.![]()
This topic has been debated here before, and many of the lawsuits have been detailed right here on TB.
Nothing new there. Same old Same old
New stuff is here: Link Removed
Ha Ulis a genius, and most likely his competitors envy and solute the guy.
A literal genius, started his company doing a couple semi-underhanded things (not nearly what hes accused of) common business stuff that most any company would and have done to do to get a foothold, but raised the bar until hes literally surpassing, even buying up high-end companies. Midas yikes!
I was gonna say I was now above the Behringer gear, but realized Ive got an oooold EP2500 power amp with hundreds of hours on it, now powering my music room PA, a couple EQs, an old 15 wedge my drummer refuses to do without, three control surfaces for my recording PC, a couple DIs, a cable tester, a patch bay, a couple XM8500 mics, a midi foot controller maybe more stuff, I have so much gear I cant remember it all.
Anyways, I buy considering value and application, and Behringer just fits the bill for so many things.
QSC Ive got two GX5s, one powering my band PA, and one a big bass rig, but before they came out with them, their 2450 was over twice the price of the EP. Sorry, twice the price means I can buy two EPs.
And if anyone thinks QSC or any of the others give a crap about you, youre delusional; theyd gouge you in a second, and as far as Im concerned, they were until they had to come up with something to compete with the EPs. So they did with the GX series amps, a great value which youd likely have never seen had it not been for Behringer.
My experience so far, the new FCB1010 foot controller (wanting to incorporate it in the recording studio) is not well explained, and were racking our brains a bit to figure it out, but its been done, well do it, and its a great value.
The EQs, work fine, and are not used for anything critical.
The control surfaces are such a value I cant even speak on it.
Virtually everything has worked flawlessly, absolutely no, as in zero disappointments or failures. So have your imagined statistics on failure, but I have enough of their stuff to give an actual educated perspective.
Loyalty to any brand name is akin to Stockholms syndrome. Only competition forces any company to offer a decent value, and Behringer has forced other companies to bring better values probably more than any other company in recent history.
Okay, Im rambling

Behringer did what a lot of electronics companies are doing...production in Asia.
Behringer did what a lot of electronics companies are doing...production in Asia. No one forced anyone else to follow. It comes down to business. If you choose to compete on price, then you build in the cheapest country. No one forced those other companies to compete on price. Modulus, your anger is guided at the wrong party. You are blaming the gun companies, for some idiot choosing to use a handgun to kill someone. Instead, you should question the motives of your beloved companies and ask why the would choose to risk product quality for the sake of low-margin low-cost sales. Boss pedals are made in China, yet they maintain higher prices. They have significantly lowered their production cost, while keeping the prices the same...they've enhanced their profits.
Boss' image depends on toadies to continue forward the illusion of Boss pedals being all that and a loaf of bread. I have suffered two bad Boss pedals in a row. I guess their QC ain't so hot. My Behringer BEQ700 is going on 4 years old now and it in perfect working condition and it used on a weekly basis. No noise, no broken buttons.
Based on my anecdotal experience, Boss pedals suck, and Behringer is quality. My UCA202 has worked for 3 years day in and day out. My Eurorack 1002 mixer continues to work without any noise. 3 products in a row that have worked for years under regular use. My mixer and UCA ARE my computer's sound system, so they do in fact get used every day for hours at a time. +3 for Behringer. -2 for Boss.
I now have a Bass V-Amp Pro I used every weekend at church before I broke the Bank Down button. Now it lives on top of my man cave monitors' power amp, stereo into the board for quiet practice after the kids go to bed. I control it via MIDI on my laptop to get to the hidden settings.
Mod, you really need to point the finger where it belongs...each individual company for making the choice they choose to make on country of origin. Behringer is Hyundai. Hyundai made car-shaped objects for years, looked and ran like anyone else's cars. Quality was suspect, but now they are in the top 4? top 5? in world wide sales. Ford and GM now have to compete with Hyundai's quality, not the other way around.
: Unfortunately musicians are not only cheap but stupid as well.{ which is why alot of them play for cheap or nothing but that is another thread in itself} For most of them price is the biggest selling point. r.
No Behringer forced other companies to move their production to China. It came back to bite some companies in the ass like loud/mackie who once had decent products now they are crap. Not sure where the original QSC RMX amps were made but I bet the GX are from china.
And stealing designs from successful companies, skirting the laws where they could, and paying significant settlements when they couldn't. Don't forget about that.![]()
