problem with class AB amp and class D amp

You're kidding us, right?

Take 'em both to a tech if the amps are quality ones, sell them as-is if they are not.

Unfortunately the W/$ ratio has made fixing amps unfeasible in many cases. lack of schematics is a really bad problem as well.

I have an Eden WT-800 and a Markbass Little Mark Tube and my friend has the exact same setup. Both my amps are fully functional but my friends' amps are both not. We've opened up mine to check for any obvious flaws there may be that our untrained eyes can see. So far no luck. UPDATE* Am i to believe that the regular LMTube is an A/B?

Just to harass you a little bit more, do you think you have now given us sufficient information? Yes people chided you for not even mentioning what amps they were, but do you actually think anybody could make a diagnosis just based on the model of the amp?

That's exactly the same as the one guy jesting "anybody know why my wife's car won't start?" Obviously no--nobody here knows, and there's no earthly way any of us could know, even if he told us it was a Chrysler LeBaron.

With some info added....your one amp works fine, his has low output. Have him bring JUST his head to your place and try his head with your bass and normal cab setup. That one head may be fine, just a difference of your setup to his? His dead amp, pick a place to start WAGing (Wild Ass Guessing) if you don't want to go the tech route. That's the only advise I can come up with by internet remote.

We DID say so and then we filled in the time while we waited for your response. Filled it well if I may say so. :)

Your LM Tube will have to go to Guitar Centre for repair. There is zero chance of you getting the schematic from Mark Bass.

Your Eden to a local tech. Both assuming that your friends amps will not work with your set up.

We were just killing time until you logged back in. I did ask for addt'l information....I don't what the problem is with these other jolly jokers.

I stand by my original suggestion: take the suspect units to a qualified tech and let him sort it out. If you are unfamilar with electronic diagnostics, you shouldn't be prying the cover off any device. Can you say "electrocution"?

Nobody knows how to fix class D amps.

Seriously, I think the Crown K1 repair manual was all about "swapping modules with known good ones" for the class D stuff.

Any qualified tech should be able to troubleshoot the A/B amp. That's standard well known configuration.

Only thing you can do is make sure it has power, make sure the speaker cables/input cables are good. Reset the socket breakers and make sure the combunction chamber is clean.

His amps are suffering from a lack of dark energy. The spell to rejuvenate them is this:
You need
1 goat, born in spring on a night with no moon
7 candles made from the fat of a banker
4 Swallow's nests
5 bundles of sage

Light everything on fire and funnel the smoke into the amplifier. Make sure no to let any escape. This is the "Magic Smoke"

On the subject of blown MB amps, while cruisin' the bay I happened upon a MB F500 going as is. It went finally for $280. Now there's a LM Tube going. Already it's at $280 with a few days left. I wonder to myself how much is it going to cost these guys to have the amps fixed? I would think that for not much more you should be able to get a working amp from the used market.
