Problem with Kalium strings?

I ordered a set of strings on February 11. I have not received any further emails, updates, etc. since then, and the order is still listed as "Processing" on the website. I sent an email asking for an update or to cancel the order and have not yet received a response. I suppose I will try calling and see if it makes any difference.

Yeah like I stated earlier, the only effective way w kalium seems to be calling.

Tbh just a little advice for a lot of peeps: if someone isn't contacting you and you can't get through to them by sending texts, email, mail, you need to call them IMMEDIATELY. I'm talking within a few days.

Not calling someone and complaining that you can't get a hold of them and they haven't gotten a hold of you is kinda redundant; like yeah he should just contact his customers to update them, but he doesn't, so like, just call, it's easier than writing emails.

Nope, it‘s easier not doing business with someone that does not know how to communicate - and Kalium unfortunately does not.

Edit: No, I would not try to call someone from overseas, timezones, cost, etc.

Their shop only shows “Processing”, even after you have received the strings. At least it did with all of my orders, even the one I canceled.

Newtone strings hit the nail on the head and got back to me 2 weeks on the dot to let me know my custom set of strings was sent through the post that day.
I was so happy about the punctuality that I just placed an order for a similar set.

They provide almost any string size you can think of up to like .220 or something around there and ask for string measurements for accurate taper placement.
Options include:
- Choice of bridge taper for ea. individual string if desired.
- Round or hex core.
- Stainless steel or nickel wrap.
- Platinum or Diamond series wrapping. (Platinum being the finer, more suited for studio work, and supposedly less zingy of the two).

I opted for platinum for my first set, and diamond for the second set.

I will report back as soon as I get them on my NB6FP.

For those curious the sizes I ordered are:
.042
.056
.073
.098
.142t
.176t

Got my set last Tuesday (april 20) so all in all about 4 weeks for custom strings and fully communicative minus tracking. They are currently w/ my luthier waiting for my Legator to be done and will report back soon for anyone interested.

I got my set about 3 weeks ago and they are still the greatest strings.

But, be aware that the USPS is totally F*cked up right now and nothing is being delivered on time.
I am still waiting on a package from NH that was shipped to me on March 30 and the tracking just says "arriving late" no ETA and it's just sitting at the post office distribution center here undelivered!
I have 2 other items that were shipped on the 20th of April with no tracking info whatsoever.
I don't trust the post office and ordering from Kalium with extra Fedex shipping breaks the bank for me right now.

I was thinking about ordering a set, but then I remembered all these issues people were having.

If I ordered just a regular old set of hybrid balanced strings, are the odds of me getting them in a reasonable amount of time better?
In this case, the USPS is a big part of the issue. I have other things out there(not strings) that are in limbo just like @laklandplayer.....tis a drag....

I put it on the website, the order....took 4 days....I did call Skip but not to hurry him...

This is pretty much what I said has been everyone I knows best experience is calling after ordering and they get their strings in a week.

anytime this happens to me I just call the local post office and then pick it up myself. It's lame, but at least I get my stuff.

I did that and they couldn't tell me anymore than what is on their tracking site. They were sympathetic, was told they are short staffed all over the country and have cut all overtime to get things taken care of. DeJoy is doing it to undermind the USPS because he actually owns a delivery company, no joke!

Update

I called today, got Skip. He said that myself and one other customer are having this happen, with the shipment seeming to sit at the post office and no scans having been done anywhere. He said he was going to the PO, and if it was OK with me he would try to straighten it out there, otherwise on Thursday to speak with him again and he would re-fulfill the order.
Final

My strings were moving through the PO system that night, and I got them either the the next day or two days later. I have no way of knowing whether Skip "straightened things out" with the USPS or just finally sent out the package.

I did have a bit of discussion with him about a technical issue after they arrived (the B winding length is .25" shorter than quoted on the site, which makes it barely long enough for my purpose), and in both conversations he seemed like a very nice guy.

that's good news!!

I just got $26 stolen from me by Skip. I'm on Social Security disability, so that's a good half of the spending money I have for a month. Here's the story:
I've been buying their strings consistently for about a year. Some of their odd-numbered gauges are the perfect tension for my needs and no one else has them. I ordered 2 sets of guitar strings for $26 (Priority Mail shipping) on 10/2. They gave me a tracking number on 10/4. On 10/10, tracking still said USPS hadn't received the package. Waiting to record, I had to buy strings from a store, but no one else has the odd-numbered gauges that Kalium has so I also had to setup/intonate my guitars for the gauges I was able to get in-store. I emailed saying I already had to buy strings somewhere else and asked them to cancel the order. I'm on SSDI disability so I can't afford to buy more than I need in a month. Again, on 10/12 I asked for a refund, tracking still showed not received by USPS. I said, if they show up, I promise I'll send them back. That night, USPS apparently found the package (or they hadn't actually shipped it until then). He said to write 'Return to Sender' on the package, so I did, dropped it back in the box as soon as I took it out. It's been 16 days now since I put it in the mailbox. 29 days since I ordered it. 21 days since I first requested a refund. It was 10 days after ordering before it was even shipped, 13 days when it finally arrived. I never opened it, I wrote 'RETURN TO SENDER' in black marker like he instructed, put it straight into the locked outgoing mailbox at my apartment complex.
I should have been refunded when it had been 10 days and still not yet shipped. He (Skip) keeps telling me "not until I get the strings you claim to have sent back", as if I'm some junkie trying to scam him out of $26. I'm permanently disabled, on Social Security. After I pay my rent and bills I'm lucky to have $50 left for the month to spend on myself.
Any other retailer would have issued the refund when it had been a week and still not in transit, and likely offered me something free or a discount to insure that they retain my patronage. I paid for Priority Mail, they're in the next state, so it should have been here in 2-3 days. 10 before it actually shipped, 13 when it got here, and I have to wait until you get it back to get my refund?!
Well, now it's been 16 days since I sent it back and the tracking still just says it was delivered here. I don't think they even track something that's been "Returned to Sender". But I put it in a locked outgoing mailbox that only the mailman has a key to, so it's obviously been lost by USPS (AGAIN!).
Skip is a rude, obnoxious, snotty, self-important waste of space! I would have bought strings from them for the rest of my life, but he lost that over $26. This is The Worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life (aside from a fiasco with a car shop keeping my van for 4 months to replace a transmission). And this isn't the first time they gave a tracking number but lagged on actually shipping it. I've been stuck here all month waiting on him to give back the measly little wad of spending money I would have had for the month.
I hope he's proud of himself for getting over on a cripple for $26.
I will NEVER buy anything from them ever again, no matter how much the .051 & .037 were perfect for my guitar. And I have no idea where I'm gonna get the next .148T for the low A on my 5 string bass, but I'll deal with what I can get. They will not see another penny from me.
And I hope this matters enough to you that you will boycott them. Bad businesses don't deserve to be in business.
If you don't provide what I paid for within the promised delivery time, you issue a refund. It's not my fault it was either lost by USPS for over a week, or you just didn't actually ship it until then and blamed it on USPS. And it's not my fault they lost it again on the way back! If you wanted return tracking you should have given me a return label, instead of telling me to write "Return to Sender" on it. You're the one who bought the postage, if they lost it, it's up to you to file a missing package search or a lost package insurance claim. You don't leave the customer waiting for an entire month+ without their money. He said, "well, it's not my fault, either"... waaah, it certainly is the responsibility of the business to reimburse the customer if the package is lost, THEN you pursue compensation from the delivery service. Unless you don't care to keep your customers.
What a joke!

I use a PayPal debit card for everything and they're good about reimbursement for unauthorized charges. I've already gotten my money back from PayPal (submitted a dispute and included the email exchange w/Skip), but I'm not telling him that. I'm not letting him get away with this. I'm now sending him foul-mouthed messages and he's still replying, almost immediately (so, OP: he DID get your messages and WAS ignoring you), saying things like "I can't afford to lose $26 any more than you" and "I'm not passing any loss onto you". What do you call it, then? USPS lost YOUR package and you're taking MY money.
BOYCOTT KALIUM. Drive them out of business!

I realize you're angry, and for good reason. I am also a person who got a mailing label created quickly, but didn't get strings until I contacted him and he then "straightened it out at the post office." But — you have your money back. And he is not "getting away with it," since you have your money and PayPal will take back the money from him, if they haven't already.

I know that you are not asking for advice, but I suggest you keep it on the up-and-up, not go for getting double your money back (which is what it would amount to), and keep from having your name sullied instead of his.

I'm not trying to get extra money. I'm just not gonna sit back and let some pos get away with robbery. If he ever does give my money back I'll give it back to PayPal. They shouldn't have to pay for his greed.
All he has to do is file a missing package search and insurance claim but he won't do it. This guy is scum. Worthless rotting garbage.
