I had a very nice somewhat extended correspondence with luthier Harry Fleischmann about one of his basses that I own. During the extended portion of our communication, he recommended a band called Thinking Plague. Part prog, part abstract. Not for everyone, but worth checking out.

I think this is an appropriate place to drop this. It is long, and there is a variety of different types of music in this concert, but is excellent with superb musicianship from everyone in this band.

I bought and enjoyed their last album, I really dig a female voice in the Prog genre.

...especially when it's such a powerful and capable voice as Leslie's. She could be singing nearly any style of music -- including some horribly treacly pap that would probably cause me to throw up a little in my mouth -- and yet she seems fully committed to embracing District 97's modern prog aesthetic without sounding like she's slumming.
