Promo videos

Hey guys,

I'm looking to have made/make some promo videos for myself as a bass player. Does anyone have any promo videos of themselves? I'd be curious to take a look.

As I see it, avoid auto-descriptive talking and/or speaking voice. The guys who try to do so and are not reasonably recognizable end up looking annoyingly pretentious. And even if you're sort of "famous" (which I don't know) you'd have to be experienced on camera, otherwise it doesn't look good. I'd just mix live moments/videoclips you may have on tape (maybe overdubbing samples of your recorded music over live material).

This is a "montage" of my college showcase, the only problem with this is it's really long.

Keep yours under 1:30 or 2:00
Split the best of the best into beginning middle and end, and if you NEED to put filler in their, put it inbetween those points.

Everything on this vid was done on Garage Band and iphoto.
Also -- pretty easy.

There's nothing pretensious about playing something.. then showing how simple it is to do.

no, only for my band, but I think it's a great idea. a montage would be cool. different venues, different styles. Some with your vocals, perhaps.
