Saw them at Brooklyn Steel a few weeks back. They put on a hell of a show, and I think they're one of the best new bands out there, and proof that rock isn't dead!
He’s my favourite too, I first saw him on the Black Album tour and his bass playing made a big impact on me. He’s also the main reason I got my Rickenbacker bass.
I always loved Eddie and the hot rods and pauls playing with them, but what really made me take notice of his bass lines was this single with Larry Wallis.
Totally different than the motorhead version. Gives it such a different feel. First time I heard it I noticed the bass line right away and to find out who it was. Sure enough, Paul gray.
A month ago I saw The Damned at a festival, the first time ever, unbelievably, and Gray was very impressive, he had my attention the entire set…
Unfortunately the mix on that particular stage was lousy, but the band delivered the goods.
Bauhaus, though, blew everyone away…
David J was solid.
And it was a kick to see Glen Matlock playing with Blondie.

Was that Cruel World in Pasadena? My wife and I had tickets for that, but things came up and we couldn't make it.
Also, there's a great 90s band from DC that does a good Damned cover. I can't find a video of it, unfortunately, but it's on their Hot (-) Fast (+) Union EP.
Yep, after a two year delay; Echo and the Bunnymen had visa problems, so they were a no-show. Richard Butler from the Psych Furs was having a bad day, Devo were brilliant, PIL…well, Johnny was Johnny. I know people in the English Beat and The Church, so I’m biased, but they were great, and my friend who was with me(she played keyboards in a band we had 40 years ago)came in from Amsterdam(also for some medical procedures, we’re at that age). We decided to bail on Morrissey, who ended the evening, but as we were looking for my car in the dark, we heard plenty of his whiney ass in the distance. They’re doing it again next year.
Sounds like a nice evening, and I endorse your decision to skip Morrissey.
I once DJ'ed on a show called Loud Fast Rules at the radio station where I went to college. It was our metal/hardcore/grindcore/etc show. For one shift, I did all sets where you could easily cram 15 to 20 songs into each 15 minute set. I called it "Loud Fast Short Rules."
Wisconsin is still one of my favorite albums of all times.

I remember seeing this cassette in the bargain bins for years before finally giving it a try. It sounds like someone injected Novocain into the bass strings and datura into the guitar amp. But in a good way.
