I think its pretty durn cool,myself. Speaking of non factory colors on a Ric,i would love to see one of these in Fender's coral color....maybe even with a tortoise pg....THAT would be radical.....'course it would need to be an "S" model,too.

I think a purple done like a fireglo or the 2005/6 blueburstglo would be damn stellar
And the only thing that is making me "eh" about it is it's not bound and has dots.
Paul Wilczinski has done a 360 (guitar) in purpleburst over a flamed maple top, and it was spectacular.
I wouldn't call that purple. It's more of a burgundy mist metallic.

The 4003's come with the God Awful worst pickups and electronics. People want to "move up" with the neck thru element, but soon realize how much of a pain the Rick really is. I've owned 2, shamefully.
