Purple(!) Rickenbacker on eBay

I think its pretty durn cool,myself. Speaking of non factory colors on a Ric,i would love to see one of these in Fender's coral color....maybe even with a tortoise pg....THAT would be radical.....'course it would need to be an "S" model,too.

I think a purple done like a fireglo or the 2005/6 blueburstglo would be damn stellar

And the only thing that is making me "eh" about it is it's not bound and has dots.

I wouldn't call that purple. It's more of a burgundy mist metallic.

Don't judge it based on the Dingwall. I ordered the first "burgundy mist" Super J and was disappointed as it was Purple. Looked cool, but was not what I ordered.

If I'm ever on the market I'd get an "S" model...I'd prefer curved body for comfort, rather than sharp edged binding.

Coral, sure. But tort pickguards are ugly enough on fenders. On Rics they just look awful.


I kid... mostly. That would be a very different looking Ric. Maybe cool.

I really like my Rickenbacker's pickups. I prefer them greatly to the pickups of most other basses I've played.

Maybe it's just that not everyone is going to like the same thing?

That's why it's great to have so many choices. Don't know why it would be shameful. Ric's are perfect for some not for others. I dislike most Spector and Warwick basses because of how the necks feels so far out. Doen't make em crappy just not great for me. I didn't stop eating sandwiches when I had one I didn't like. But now I'm a fatass so maybe I should have.
