Um, being purple somehow attributes to the classic and warm sound? How does that work?

Some of the other "attributes" were a little dubious in that regard as well (pearl dots?, silver hardware?, the case?), but the fact that "purple finish" was on the list just cracked me up!

I know it's personal choice, but I just have a hard time with non-traditional Ric colors. I was really wanting to share the last part, though, because the thought of any color making the bass sound better struck me as really funny.

That is a refin, right? Never seen one in that colour before. The 75th edition Dark Cherry Metalic colour was close to this but a bit darker.

I had a Burgandyglo 4001s once. Why oh why did I let that one go? And yes, in the right hands and with the right amps they can sound very warm indeed. Think Macca...

I've heard of a midnight blue Ric turning into a sort of purplish-blue, from sitting in a shop window too long, but this one surely seems like a refin to me. It definitely stands out in the eBay listings, I'll give it that!

Also, it looks like the eBay one was a flipper. It had recently sold for $1250 on eBay, then was immediately listed by the buyer for $800 more. I think all he did was give it a fresh set up. Yikes. Good for him, I guess, right?

I wouldn't call that purple. It's more of a burgundy mist metallic.
