And... after pulling out my Zvex Mastotron for a session - it's on my board full time! Works GREAT on bass, even later in the effects chain. The impedance control really helps to make it work with just about any input (passive, active, buffered signals, etc.). Basically, as I understand it, the Mastotron IS a Woolly Mammoth circuit but with the additional impedance control (although there is some disagreement whether they are exactly the same). A Wooly that works with any bass for about 1/2 the price? Done.

I also let my favorite Boss needle tuner go in favor of the Planet Waves Tru Strobe tuner. It's just as accurate & I've come to prefer the strobe type approach.

Mastotron should be a MUST try for any bassist looking for fuzz. I still like the Fender Sub-Lime, but it just doesn't do the over-the-top, scooped sputtery thing as well.

I don't know how different the circuits are (I could check, but....lazy) but I think you can shoehorn the impedance control from the mastotron into a mammoth clone. It appears to be an adjustable resistor to ground at the input instead of a fixed value. It might be a cool thing to try.

The impedance knob can really change the tone a lot just by adjusting input impedance and loading. I gotta try that sometime, I think I might actually have the parts lying around to make a ghetto mammoth clone.

The Megalith is the most awe inspiring massive wall of fuzzy distortion on the face of Mercury (hotter than Earth). All out madness. I would almost have to pass on it if I didn't have a Schism to help tame it down with.

You can have dibs on my Elements....but it might be another 3 weeks or so.

Yeah. Those are the three. I don't know what Line 6 was thinking with that. It doesn't bother me too much, though. I really just got it thinking I could find a good clean octave up thing (I don't think it can even do that) and it having a tuner was like an added bonus. That and some reverb. Otherwise, I don't really need or use any of it. It'll probably be flipped, soon.

Really, not even with the Pitch Glide?

I keep thinking I want an M5 or M9 for a couple sounds, but the fact that I can't use it with the Expressionator is a big negative since the things I want it for are all patches I'd use an expression pedal for.

If I was really cool I'd get a custom expression pedal like Behndy's with the TS + TRS output to control a Line6 + 3 via the Expressionator. Seems like the only reasonable approach if you have an M5/M9/M13 plus other expression controlled things.

I'll have to not get lazy and get that picture, the new ones look awesome too! Thanks man, that was from my first rehearsal with this new group I joined, tons of weird meter stuff and lots of room for noise making :) The dl4 is such a versatile pedal, just wish it was smaller!
