PYPB 38: When 'a few' just isn't enough...

Here's mine:
P1050645.jpg

Now i'm waiting for a compressor (a brazilian handmade called Ed's Mod Shop Cyclops) and an EWS Tri-Logic Bass Preamp to finish it.

Thought I'd post my latest bass board and just for heck, the pedalboard I use for acoustic guitar, housed in my "modified" Boss BCB-60. All pedals have been on the bass board at one point or another. FWIW, the JamMan is not a success with my bass rig (not that I would use it, anyway).

I wear black sandals 'cause they match with my boards...

Acoustic chain:
GTR > Boss TU-2 > EHX LPB-1 > Marshall RG-1 > BBE OptoStomp > Boss DD-7 > JamMan Solo > Paradriver > PA.

I think I posted mine about a year ago. It's radically changed and enlarged since then.

My effects chain is like this: Bass --> EHX Bass Microsynth --> B:assmaster fuzz --> Bass Envelope Filter Pro --> EHX Superego (with a HOG and an MXR Phase 90 in the loop) --> tuner --> off the board because I ran out of room --> BassBalls --> Amp

I'm not set with the chain, as I think the SuperEgo will get some great Wobble sounds if I put the BEF later in the chain. Right now, it makes drone-type chords that are unaffected by the BEF. It sounds cool, I think ( - minute 1:20 or so, I briefly make some chords with it). However, I just got both the SuperEgo and BEF the pedal and am totally exploring the sounds possible.

I think it's time to buy a new pedal board when you start to think "Hmm... can't get the Bass Balls on the board... maybe I don't really need a tuner..."

Nice Jean! I'm curious, does the Chroma get in there instead of another Polytope because of the stereo capability, or does it do something that the Polytope can't? I guess conversely if that's all you use it for there's no need for the additional capabilities...

Actually, the Chroma is loaded with the "experimental" WET patch with modulation knob. It replaced the blueSky. I'll probably give the shimmer patch a try too when it's released.

And so the great rebuild of 2012 begins...

I've done some slight adjustments as well...
Stripped the board, removed all old Velcro and scrubbed it clean, then removed the foam on the base (most of)...

I've made some wooden 'feet' for the top tier to sit on as well as it used to sit on foam which, while OK, has squished a little meaning there was a little movement...

I also put some serious work in making this plinth for the whole front row. Every pedal was on a different size riser to lift it over the lip and to make things more accessible, so instead I made a single one which is covered with 'Veltex' material (which is a fabric cover made by Velcro which acts like the soft side of Velcro). I'm pretty chuffed by it...

So it should all work a little like this...

:)

SO awesome Jean and Shep.

Shep - DEM CABLES! That's a fat stack! I'm sure you'll love the rigidity of the new riser and I'll bet it'll be looking cleaner than ever when it's all back together. So much goodness.

This page is full of GOOEY awesomeness. Sheesh.

Around 80 Grorge L's plugs came off the last version of the board (so circa 40 patch cables). That's the goal to beat ;)
