I like your style! Lots of quality dirt. I see space for one more... :ninja:

rarrr...

in > schism > b3k (12v) > vp-jr > dispatch master > ditto looper > submarine designer > out

schism 1: unpleasant surprise > bottom feeder > compact faye sing
schism 2: tall font russian > overdrive 2 (18v) > hummingbird > bmc (15v)

offboard vp-jr is the expression pedal for the phaser.

all effects but those noted are running at 9v.
i mention this because i hear a noticeable difference in those effects run at higher voltages.

Thanks Dazon! I know you appreciate the TFR/B3K/Submarine trifecta of super nasty awesomeness.

The OD2 is by BYOC, and is the shinny double footswitch guy below the green Russian. It is a tubescreamer based overdrive with lots of mods, and I have it set up essentially as a Fulltone Bassdrive clone. Similar circuits and modifications. It is a drive with a boost that is independent and wired with a switch to go either before or after the drive circuit. I have it after for some really over the top drive/distortion and am running the effect at 18v for a wider breakup, less fizz, more volume. It is very, very LOUD!

It isn't quite the flavor I've been looking for, but it gets me further in my heavy bass distortion quest. Like I mentioned in that thread, stacking drives seems more the key to what I want than any single high gain effect, which tends towards honky, buzzy, fuzzy, fizzy, etc...

The Overdrive 2 into the B3K is simply crushing, and really the only combination I like with it. The OD2 is too mid scooped alone for my taste (I may have to tweek the tone circuit more), so I plan on assembling a more transparent drive next. I tried parallel and serial blending it with the TFR but aside from some ridiculous gain, I didn't get closer there. The TFR kinda stands alone anyway, unless the B3K is involved of course, then it's a whole other flavor of awesome.

Oh, by the way, the Tall Font Russian into the Hummingbird is ridiculous. Sounds like a giant metal dragonfly monster.

Cheers for that Vlad.

I have a Fulltone Bassdrive and I wish it was a small as your OD2, but it does have a really good tone.

Stacking distortion is the way to go for a fat tone but it takes up so much space (splitter + distortion/fuzz pedals + mixer) I kind of gave up on the idea. My present thoughts on the stacking are to put it all in one pedal like the Empress Multi Drive. If you get good at building your own pedals then you could mix and match schematics to get them all housed into one pedal; imagine the amounts of knobs that would have. :D Guess you could test out your ideas with the individual pedals, then when you find something good combine them into one.

Good luck with it.

Thought I should add an image of what I got figured out for my main board.

Tuner=> Proton => FEA Dual Band Compressor/Limiter (DBCL)

DBCL Low Band => Submarine + mixer (own build which is hidden under the board as an always on) => Amp

DBCL High Band => LS-2 => Submarine + mixer

LS-2 (loop A) => B7K => Octron => Frantabit
LS-2 (loop B) => Barbershop (clone) => Oxide (Orange, rehoused for top mounting) => Polytope => Boss RV-3 (Red/Yellow, rehoused for top mounting and more Mojo)

The LS-2 is mainly used to switch between tones mid-song and for that I like having the big fat ass boss switches.

The RV-3 was a lucky find in a pawn shop. The guy kept plugging in dead batteries and finally just gave up saying it was faulty. Got it for $40 :hyper: I didn't like the RV-5 but after seeing Sillyfabe's set up I got interested in the RV-3. I like that it is delay and reverb in one, like the dispatchmaster. But the cool thing is you can go full wet and produce a slow gear like swell. I rehoused it because I really wanted it top mounted, a resent trend.

It is on an aluminum frame that I built with two levels so that the Submarine, Camalote power supply and Line6 G30 could remain hidden away. Sorry for not including a back shot of that. :hiding: It all fits nicely into the hard case which it is sat upon. :bassist:

Was freaking happy with this set up for the main band I was in. Got it used for one gig and it rocked. Then yesterday our drummer quit. :crying:

Nice board. I have absolutely no use for an octave pedal, but that mxr... mmmmh, tasty!
I'd go for a tuner. No setup without a tuner. at least for me...

Yes, a tuner - hands down my most used pedal, for frequent checks of the tuning (duh :)) and for muting between songs and while switching basses.

+1

I currently have four tuners. One for each board, an extra TU2 and a headstock tuner. I use them the same way Fret does.

5sg.
