PYPB XXXIII - Effects are STOOPID

Mine hasn't changed much since I posted it last...

Only changes are there's an MXR Bass Comp where the Moollon was, an old Boss DM-2 rather than the CE-2, and the GR2 gets swapped out for various other pedals depending on the gig.

It's also a bear to lug around. A BEAR! I like the wheels on the case...

That's amazing! More deets'! What's the signal chain & how are you using all that switching?

pffffft. Josh'ya gots the MANLY BOARD. rowaor!

lulz. i suck at weighing stuff. i'm at about 250/260, so the weigh yourself, weigh yourself holding your board trick does NOTHING. don't have a scale that goes past 250 at my spot. damn chubs.

and your Patch 'Memberin' Tape on the M9 is BRILLIANT. i'm gonna steal it and give zero credit in the RL. MOOHOOOHAHHAHAHAH!!!

......how many scenes do you use? i have 2 where there's different effects, then 2 or 3 where it's More Than One Combi-Patch when you drop into a scene.

murrrrrr?

Comp > T1M Woolly Mammoth clone > T1M Boost > Muff Clone (the silver guy with 3 switches) > 3Leaf GR2 (This was a review piece for the magazine...I need to send it back to Spencer now. Boo.) > Pitchfactor > Echolution > M9 > Boss DM-2

Switching...

I have a Master Bypass on the far right of the board, also known as the "Panic Button"! ;) The next 9 are individual loops for each pedal. Next up is a tuner mute, and the last stomp in the chain is actually a global tap tempo for the M9, Echolution and the Pitchfactor. It flashes as you step on it, which is pretty pointless, but hey, it was fun to wire up!

To get the tap inputs for the Echolution and Pitchfactor, I had to mod the pedals, but I like it.

The red Dunlop style pedal is a Mission expression pedal for the M9, and the Boss was used as either an expression pedal for the Pitchfactor, or as a volume, again, depending on the gig. I recently replaced it with an EB VPjr which is with Dan at This1sMyne getting his "Tone Suck" mod or the Expression pedal mod. I haven't decided yet...leaning towards the expression pedal mod.

The other 2 pedals on the board on the right hand side are an aux pedal for the Eventide, and a fixed expression pedal for the M9. Basically the expression pedal stomp mod for the Line 6 units, just in its own enclosure that I could relocate. Both made by Dan, 'cause I built his website.

Dude, I feel ya on the chubs part...I'm workin' on it though!

The tape is fun. It's just pain ol' Invalid Link Removed, and I write on it with a dry erase marker.

I'm using all 6 scenes, but one shouldn't count, as it's literally all delays for when I play guitar. I'm using it like a super charged DL4 in that patch. For bass, I have 4 scenes and I'm using them like you are. 2 are single effects, and 2 are combos of effects that I can switch on and off easily mid-song.

I'm not gonna lie though...thinking about getting an M5 to replace that old Boss pedal or to put where the GR2 is now...oh the craziness!

MOAR MULTI!!!

..... i'm surprised how much i like the Bass Octave patch. i ****ing HATED it at first. but then i put the Aggy back on board and a/b'd 'em while playing with the patch settings. it gets.... DAMN close. defo close enough to kick the Aggy off board for the space. which i thought would never happen. REALLY disappointed in the trems though. they kinda.... suck.

lulz. now if i could figure out a way to get a TAFM/PPB all-in-one box with 3 switches. WOOF.

Really like this board. Have had every pedal here except for the ValveDrive, which I really really want because it must sound awesome, but don't have the space on my board for.

Here is the current state of my board(s). Adding on the 3leaf compressor has allowed me to move things around and branch off into making another board :scowl:.

I've been scarce in these parts for a while, mostly because I haven't really been using a ton of effects on bass recently, but this is my current board.

The RAT is a late '90's with the original LM308n chip. I bought it thinking it was a newer one with the intention of swapping the chip and adding the Ruetz mod, but popped it open and voila, there she was.

For a while I was just carrying the Rat and my tuner to gigs which is all I really need right now. I'm thinking of cloning the RAT though and selling the original because I've got that extra LM308 sitting around.
