Quad Cortex - Neural DSP

I'm sure that this has been discussed previously, but for some reason, every search I try to do on this topic seems to give me wildly unhelpful results. I have been using a QCm for several months, and I'm getting things fairly dialed in on the electric bass side of things, but I'd like to start using it in my "acoustic" band where I play both upright and ABG. Ideally, I'd like to plug both instruments into the QCm using different inputs, but process each signal path differently. I typically have feedback issues with both instruments when things get a little loud, and of course, each of them responds to feedback quite differently.

Does anyone have any presets or captures, or even suggestions related to upright and/or ABG? And since I have not played around with using two inputs, but one combined output, yet, is there anything I should know along these lines?

I wish I could help instead of chiming with and ask but…. Would you share your go to preset?

I just downloaded scubadubas Goliath Tube preset few days ago - which is excellent - and now am absolutely convinced talkbass brethren nails it best

Sure thing! Let me figure out how to do that... LOL.

But I'd defer to whatever scubaduba put together over my own. ;) :thumbsup:

I can't profess to being an expert, but when I have used eub, a bass uke or a fretless semi-hollow piezo bass I have normally ended up with some hpf, a light compressor and a hint of reverb. No sense making this too complicated is there? Now I'm curious to see if there's some magic sauce I'm missing too.

Swipe down and you can control adjust the impedance and input levels to match the output of each bass going out the same out but still have separate signal paths.

So I’ve got my QCm on a RB 2.1 board with my Canvas tuner and a Sansamp. The Sansamp is there for some redundancy, should anything happen I can switch over to the Sansamp and bypass the QCm.

I’ve always just set the levels on the QCm based on the built in meters, making sure I have decent headroom. The QCm however is far higher output than the Sansamp is capable of so gonna have to drop the levels on my QCm significantly to match.

Got me thinking though, if I’m having to cut 12db or so off to match the Sansamp, probably closer to 18db to bring it inline with my bass level that’s a lot of signal hitting the front of my amp.

For those using their QC with an amp how do you set the levels?

Use the master volume to level match - you'll still want to follow best practice for input / headroom.

So due to overly eager lowball bidding on eBay I’ve now got 2 v1 sansamps, one is a rev1 and a rev2. They’re both pretty much identical except the rev2 has instrument/line level options for the XLR and 1/4 outs.

Setting the XLR to line level brings it very close to the QC levels so I’m gonna keep that one and sell the others.

I am gonna spend a bit more time digging into output levels and my valve head at practices.

The Tube DI is really good on bass and alone made the plugin worth it.

It's been a while, but I feel like I liked the chorus a lot in that plug in pack - in addition to the tube DI being good.

Would kill for a Hurley or Pino plugin.

The MC4 fixes so many of the minor annoying things about the QC mini and still about 1/2 the size of the full but the 8 foot switches.
