Quality of Warmoth Custom Basses?

Question on the roasted body.
Did you do the finishing? I can see a topography in the wood on the pick yard side edge where the lighting is reflected, so I’m assuming the grain is not filled. Just sand and apply poly (or whatever it is that was used)? The roasted body looks much lighter after finish applied than the one in their video demonstration. The one in their video looks like walnut afterwards.
Yep my Gecko 6 looks like that (aged satin nitro over ash). Love it.

I like the "slim taper" 4 string necks. My five string neck took some getting used to. But it's the only five I've ever played. After I assembled that five I took it to my luthier for a final setup. His set up was all pro, and essentially PLEKD the neck by hand. He did smooth off a few frets on the edge. That was 5 years ago. I've never had to adjust the neck. My G&L's are like that too.
That’s cool. I have a fender American Professional p bass currently and with this weather pattern in CT it constantly needs some tweaking. Idk man. I’m just ready for something I’ve always wanted

I'm right next door in Putnam county NY. My G&l necks and warmoth necks don't move. I do keep them in a bedroom closet. Nice and dry. Basements are usually bad news for instruments.
You could check your local Craigslist / Facebook market place for a local deal. Keep it for a while and see for yourself.

I have given Warmoth a try on two different occasions. I wasn’t happy either time and for two entirely different reasons, but they both involve what I would consider judgment calls. One was purely about aesthetic choices they made, and the other was about unwillingness to refund an order deposit placed on a Sunday and cancelled that same evening upon learning new information (to me at that time) about what is/isn’t possible with their bodies (they can’t accommodate 5 hole neck joints).

I suppose I could give them a call, but does anyone know if they will do 35" 4 string neck?
good luck with calling or even email.ive called several times and sent 2 emails in the last couple weeks. NO RESPONCE

Descended22, relllaaaaaxxxxxxxx. We are still in a pandemic or a scamdemic depending on your view. Warmoth like all small businesses is swamped with orders. You emailing them, will go unanswered at this time because they are concentrating on filling current orders. They probably only have a few guys working there due to the virus and all. Post your questions here, but better yet join www.unofficialwarmoth.com what specifics are you looking for?
A lot of good eggs there, and I believe warmoth follows that website.

take your time.

They’re not so much a true custom shop (where you can get anything) as they are a customizing shop in the sense that you have a menu of choices to select from. Their website shows all their available choices. If it’s not listed they won’t do it.

AFAIK they don’t do a 35” 4-string neck.

I kinda figured so. While I think USACG is a little more custom or flexible than them, I don't believe they will do one either.
