Question about Ampeg SVT 350H

Until this thread, I didn't even know it had a fan. Never bothered me, lol.

I have a 1X15 and a 2X10 hooked up to it, one per output. Sounds pretty good.

Sure does (take a look 'round back)! I haven't taken it apart yet, since I bought it 5 or 6 years ago. Once the head warms up, and the fan's been running, it does quiet down a little bit. Other than that, I think it's a pretty decent amp for the $$. Then again, I'm not a professional. I'm strictly a hobbyist being constantly pushed into band situations...

Hmmm...115 and 210...I wonder if an extra 210 (hence my 410) would take much power away?

Just looked this thread up to see what people think of them. My only beef with the SVT-350 is the fan (probably can use a cleaning). Especially before it warms up, that thing can sometimes sound like a Briggs & Stratton (not literally). I currently play it through a BSE410HLF cab. My question is, can I add another cab? I'm looking for a little more bottom end and thought about maybe adding a 115 or 118 to it. Is it worth it?

...and if so, what's the best way to hook everything up?

What's the impedance of your BSE410HLF? That would determine whether or not you could add any more load to the amp. The amp has a 4 ohm min.

I'm pretty sure the cab is also 4 ohm.

Actually, I have no idea why the BT-350 entered the conversation.

Depends. Both of my cabs are 8 ohms. Together they equal a 4 ohm load.

It's nice amp for not very much money. When I can afford it, I'll probably upgrade, but that won't be for a while yet.

In that case, you cannot add another cab without pushing your amp beyond it designed capabilities. If you want to use 2 cabs, sell your 410 and get 2 8 ohm cabs.

Ive been using the SVT 350H with an Ampeg 810e , and I really couldnt be happier with it as a practice amp. Im actually considering running this through the FOH as a backup on gigs...its that good, at least to my ears. ( I suppose I could get them checked...) IMHO, theres really nothing wrong with this amp if you have any form of sound reinforcement

I have a 350H I use 2-Hartke 410's. The cabs are 8ohms. Plug in 2, you get to 4 ohms. Sounds just fine for club gigs. I also have 2 early 70's V4b's. They are great for any and all gigs. I use my late 60's Ampeg 810 in the practice room.
