Question about single effects

now if I purchase a single effect pedal can I plug into that then plug that into my amp and still have control on everything? Or do I need to bypass it?

Plugging single effects together does not disable any of them, and it doesn't disable anything on your amp. You can buy any other single or multi effect pedal, and plug any of them in any order betwen your bass and your amp, and all of the components will do what they normally do.

Note: there are some finicky exceptions and special cases, but I don't think you need to worry about them yet.

Yes you can.bass-->pedal-->amp.

That said, if that is your firt pedal you've made an excellant choice.

Lol funny story my teacher told me I need to get something like this, so I go to guitar center and he is working there which I didnt know, so he helped me pick out the perfect one and cut 50 bucks off of it for me For now I think I am sticking with that, my amp, and my bass for a while. That pedal I got makes everything sound substantially better plus there is distortion.
