Question about Trace Elliot V-Type head

What do you know about the sound of this amp? How do you compare it to SVT-CL ? I was looking for an Ampeg but i see this amp and i don't know what to do....
I play metal so i'm looking for an amp suitable for this type of music. I don't want a very clean tone, i like it to be grity and a little overdrived - i like that natural warm tube overdrive, not distorsion.
My cabs are: ampeg svt410he and a custom made 4x10(ported) with Eminence BP102. My bass guitar is a Warwick Streamer LX5
Do you think that this amp will be loud enough for a band with 2 guitarists with half stacks(engl: ritchie blackmore-100W full tube and fireball-60W full tube) and a loud drummer ?

We had an endorsement deal with the very similar but slightly more attractive looking V Series Trace Elliot and apart from some poor quality OEM tube issues ran reliably, it was the V8 that used to melt its self a bit.
The Trace V4 is a great amp not much complication rather more like
an old Orange 200 not quite as much zingie gain in the pre as a Hiwatt Dr 201. but if you put mullards in ?.
It is however one of the most hideous looking contraptions ever to grace a designers drawing board.
Thats your job mate making it look as good as it sounds.
As for loudness its loud enough with efficient speakers for almost any
band and will keep up with a loud drummer and a metal guitarist or two. If you are trying to make a bass GUITAR sound.
If however your tone is "modern?" IE huge subsonics and infrasound and sounds that only bats and passing whales and elephants can hear at anything less than 2000 watts. This ain't the amp for you.
But then neither is an SVT CL in that case.

Little as possible of course but now you are in competition with this lot on here and all their mates. I just paid £166 for a Mint Simms Watts 200 Super on flea bay, its about the same amp it will weigh about 38 KG therefore carriage will be expensive and unless very well packed indeed, in my experience will probably be damaged in transit.
