But notice in John's response that there is no denial of the 1 kHz bump or the house curve either. I would have thought John would have corrected that if it were not true, given the way I worded my question. And he actually says the CXL 112 has an "additional bump about 2.5KHz" ...
It is interesting to me that the thing you mentioned about the sensivity of human listeners to that 1kHz region does seem to align with whatever curve or magic or hump or bump these guys allegedly chose. I'm sure you and John and Gary know more about the science behind all this than I do.
I was just trying to offer one reason why the Wizzy speaks or cuts so well in many people's view. And why with certain types of input sources, that might actually exacerbate the dreaded honking and quacking phenomenon.
