question

1) Play great and know your craft.
2) Be yourself and be unique.
3) Find great collaborators.
4) Rehearse like crazy.
5) Eat some high-quality burritos.
6) Write amazing songs.
7) Play stunning live shows, earning a naturally strong fanbase.
8) Record great music.
9) Get famous.

Am I leaving anything out?

As far as questions like "how do I get a deal"? or things like that, that's not really my function on these forums. Things like that are vastly overrated anyway, especially in comparison to more foundational and enduring things like being excellent at what you do and turning out great gigs with your band.

emphasis on the high-quality burritos.

bad burritos will ruin your day and rob you of inspiration.
i find that it robs everyone else of inspiration if i eat a bad burrito, but it sure fills me with inspiration. and it's so good i just have to share with those behind me. maybe that's why our rv always smelled like ass ;)

good question and very appropriate. i have had burritos all over the country, and there are two basic categories....mexican restaurant burritos, and fast food burritos. i love them all. the best places to get burritos are always small family owned mexican restaurants. look for one of them.

if all you can find is fast food, i think the best of it is taco john's, but they're not easily found like taco bell. but even taco bell is good, the chicken grilled stuff'd burrito being a personal favorite. del taco is also good, but again, taco bell is everywhere and is still pretty darn good.

hard to go wrong with mexican food...although there was this mexican place in wellington, new zealand that i wasn't especially crazy about ;)

well you should save enough money to move in to a place and live for AT LEAST 3 months (to give yourself time to find a job). then get out there and go to see local bands every night, talk to the musicians, find connections. become a badass. stuff like that

haha that taco truck opposite Kingsize - i went to that a few years ago when I was recording there. Being from the UK i was kinda dubious but it was alright!
