Just bought one of these in white and had a few questions. First, where can I find reproduction bridge and pickup covers for this? Also, what are the tuner size for these? It neck dives badly, so I was thinking of replacing the tuning machines with hipshots. I know hipshot makes a bridge as well, but I don't really see anything wrong with the stock one.

Yea Hipshot Ultralite Tuners are kinda mandatory these days. Get the "Chrome" ones for a MATTE look and the "Shiny Nickel" ones for what chrome normally looks like, it's a bit of a twisted company when it comes to that. That said, the chrome ones (so the ones looking frosty matte) look effing HOT so you might wanna take a closer look at those.

I'v' been considering a JC for some time, and now with this white one I'm getting all itchy. Just how bad is the neck dive?

I've tried them out a couple of times, and found it a bit irritating when stood up, but not so much when seated.

I bought an alpine white Jack Casady bass last week. I purchased a 3" wide Glove Leather strap made by Franklin Strap and sold at Guitar Center. It's expensive but it is very comfortable and it stopped the deck drop. I haven't changed any thing else yet as I want to break this beauty in and learn the many different tonal features this bass has to offer. Next will be a new set of Dean Markley Blue Steel medium gauge strings as recommended by Jack Casady. Good luck with yours, I'm loving mine.:):cool::bassist:

I will have to try that... I don't know about those strings... I am pretty set on flats for this bass

Here's a question about the JC bass- I just got the "Bass Guitar of Jack Casady" instruction DVD. It was made in 2005 and Jack is playing a gold JC bass but it has Gibson on the headstock and the pickup cover. It looks "road worn". Did Gibson make the first run(s) of the JC before it was turned over to Epiphone?

Ahhhhh...... thanks! I'd read about them, but I didn't realize they were THAT closely related.

EDIT: I checked the small print copyright on the package and it looks like the DVD (or VHS?) first came out in 1998- so that would pre-date the JC bass th, right?
