Quick praise for Warwick

Living in Wisconsin we have some crazy temperature swings. It hit -40 F this winter and we'll have more than a few days that hit past 100 F in the summer. Coming out of the cold season and into the hot season (and vice versa) is when I like to give my basses a full re-setup.

Just got through with my '04 German Corvette 4 and my '18 Rockbass Corvette 6...and absolutely zero truss rod tweaks or bridge adjustment needed for either. I like to keep my neck relief pretty tight at .5mm, so this is pretty impressive in my book.

I've owned many basses and many brands over the years, some need a little attention over the seasons, and some have needed a lot, but none have ever needed this little.

Thanks, and way to go Warwick; you've saved the dogs from being startled by explosive cussing due to out of whack setups.

-20 to 105 here and, for that ridiculous stability (among other features), I really miss my '06 wenge board ovangkol neck vette.

Yeah, Warwick uses weird woods. I guess there are better things than maple out there, but you'll never get me to admit that. My Thumb 5 BO neck doesn't move with the weather, though.

My 05 corvette fna jazzman 5-string almost never needs truss rod adjustments. Comes out of the case nearly in tune every time, no matter the conditions, inside and out. Tune it before a 3-4 hour gig and it stays there the whole time.

I'm right there with you, I've never had another bass or guitar with such a low-maintainence neck.

Well my Rockbass Corvette has a maple neck and it has been just as stable as the Ovangkol...which surprised me a bit.

I’ve had a half dozen German Warwicks. It’s not so much the temperature swings with them. It’s extreme humidity that messes them up imo.

This. I live in Houston where the summertime is like a wet sauna. Doing gigs outdoors with a Warwick, especially near the beach? You're getting a neck adjustment soon after.

Interesting. I never had any issues with the necks on any of the Warwicks I owned (wenge, ovangkol and also maple thru-neck), but anecdotally at least, I have heard of them being quite sensitive to temperature and humidity changes.

You know, now that I think about it, I’ve never since 1996 had to make neck adjustments to my Warwick Fortress Masterman. Ever.

My ovankgol neck Warwick is the most stable I've ever had. Unless I change string sizes it never needs a truss rod adjustment and usually comes out of the case within a couple cents of perfectly in tune.
